Cab Mount Bolts/Captured Nut Loose

I am looking for advice on how to deal with a loose captured nut on passenger rear of cab. Anyone been down this road before me? I do not want to tear everything else loose until I figure this one out.

Drill a hole and tack weld the nut through the hole? You’re talking about the cab bolt/nut correct?

yes cab mount bolt i can feel the nut slipping when I turn the bolt from below.
I have heard about cutting a sqare hole in floor of cab, on the "shelf" behind the seat.

Happened to me. Had to cut open from the inside of the cab behind the seat and weld the nut back in place.

OK next question....so cab removal with on a 4sp 4wd. the 4wd shift lever will not be a problem but I think I will have to remove the trans gear shift to lift cab , whats the easiest way?

Are you lifting the cab to get to the nut? Didn't think that was necessary.

I am removing the cab to put on another frame. Just looking for an easy way to take gear shift off so I do not have to lift cab up and off of long gear shift

Push it down and twist, it will pull right out!

No way......see I woulda thought it was gonna be a pain......this forum has saved me so many times from doing things the hard way or taking things apart more than needed

So I have gently tried to push down and twist/rotate the gear shift and no luck. Could I be trying to do it too gently ? do you need to shove it down and give it a hard twist.....didnt want to go to hard first try

found this on youtube. I was pushing down on the gear shift. it is the outer ring that gets depressed and rotated.
