kick panel vent on AC trucks wont open

I think it only opens on Max A/C, to recirculate cold air back to the box.

    1991 V2500 4l80e 1st Gear Issue

The B82 was the originally spec'd converter for a Smallblock. They just don't make the off the line torque the big blocks did. I'd personally stick with the B82.

    Double Dingo's 1965 3/4 Ton "Crusty Biscuit"

Very nice work, sir! Still one of my favorite trucks here. :)

    1991 V2500 4l80e 1st Gear Issue

x2 on the Recon converter. I've got a 91-97' GM82 converter paired with my 99' 4L80E behind my 6.0L LS. The GM82 will interchange with the GM88 that is "technically" the correct converter for my 99' 4L80E. Not that any of that matters to you! :D I'm happy with the converter, stalls right around...

    Circle D giving me problems

Totally thought this thread was going to be about torque converter issues...

    1987 V10 6.0 LS swap

One anecdote does not truth make. The 6.0L is just as reliable as the 5.3L. In my search for my 6.0L, I came across several in work vans with upwards of 350K. Not one of example either, tons of them.

    George's 2003 Sub "lucky7"

This thing is looking nice, George! It's just begging for a 2500 truck hood, IMO. :D

What have you done to your square lately??

New shocks front and rear, and greased up all the suspension lube points.

Squarebody Nation meet in Thackerville, OK

Quite a few of my friends made it up, sounded like they had a blast (other than some political BS about the "Road Warrior" award (longest distance driven) being given to a guy who trailered his truck there instead of the guy who went just as far and actually drove his square, but I digress)...

I have that issue a lot too, it seems to randomly rotate photos at will.

Retro's 1989 GMC Sierra C1500 Sportside Indy clone

Was hoping to catch you at Twin Peaks yesterday, but I totally thought it was on Thursday until I talked to Frank. Got there about 7:30 and checked it out, definitely some nice rides. I'll catch you another time out there.

    1991 V2500 4l80e 1st Gear Issue

That's a pretty sweet rig! Hopefully we can get the trans gurus in here. HotRodPC, Any ideas on this issue? Not sure if you have any 4L80E experience, but you are the resident trans guru, so I figured I'd page. :D

    1987 R10 LS swap info

I haven't used them first hand, but they are supposed to tuck in tighter. I personally went with the Hooker LS swap manifolds (PN 8501HKR), but they are around $300, so not really a budget piece, per se.

    1987 R10 LS swap info

Not sure if you are dead set on headers or not, but Trailblazer/Envoy 5.3L manifolds, and LS3 manifolds will fit really well inside the frame rails, typically. You can usually find them for under $100 on ebay/cl/forums.

1991 steering column loose and ignition switch binding

It's definitely possible. The actual ignition switch itself is further down the column, operated by a rod that is actuated by the keyed switch.

    Preferred Fuel Sending Unit Brands

I've heard through the grapevine that Spectra was the OEM supplier for GM fuel tanks/sending units. Not sure if that's true, but I've had no issues with them in either of my trucks (84' and now my LS swapped 88' crew).

Just bought 89 V3500 Crew, electrical issue

There is a ground "buss" that bolts to the driver side of the cab, up under the dash. If that came loose, you could see all sorts of issues, several circuits ground there.

    tank selctor valve

Hope I didn't come across as doubting or anything with my post, just re-read it and it sounded a bit crass. I might just be lucky in that mine was still a Pollak manufactured valve.

    tank selctor valve

I don't know that this is 100% true. My U7000 ACDelco selector valve that I bought a few months ago has the Pollak stamp on it and was manufactured in the USA.

    Need help retrofitting DRAC module!

Any details on your setup? Sounds like you are trying to install a 90-91 electronic speedo cluster? Are you LS swapped?

    tank selctor valve

Yep. 65psi sticker right on the valve on my new ACDelco one. I'm running it on my LS swapped truck with dual tanks and Walbro 255LPH pumps. Works great. Just need to buy one for an 87 TBI truck.

Trans Temp gauge, in factory bezel

Shoot, if you really wanted to, you could even use a factory coolant temp sender in the trans pan if you weld in a bung, that way it would match the factory coolant (now a trans temp) gauge perfectly.
