I need some diagnostic help.

When I am in D everything shifts and powers normal. Once I shift into Circle D I can drive it ok, but if I get on the gas she just wont go. Also at lower speeds around 50mph or lower she starts trying to change gears, but it just doesn't happen, so it feels like I'm going to stall or just something bad is happening in there. I have to downshift back into D and then things are ok again.

Any insight, guesses, or snide comments? Thanks

I can't help you much here, but circle D is overdrive (OD).

If I had to guess, it's a 305 with tall gearing and the trans likes to shift into OD too early. Making sure the TV cable (like a kickdown cable) for the trans is adjusted properly would be a good place to start.

Totally thought this thread was going to be about torque converter issues...

Maybe this is one of those cases where lockup was wired directly to 4th gear switch.
