I tried asking this a few days ago. It got overlooked so I'll try again. The one that I likely need to replace is the 1985 and earlier style two line fuel tank sending unit. I've heard to stay away from Spectras and I found a Dorman online for a good price. Also, is it possible to repair these granted they're the stock sender? Hell, for all I know this is a failing replacement sender. It's just reading like a quarter full with a practically empty tank. Unfortunately, GM no longer makes these for carbureted vehicles.

I've never bought a new one for our trucks, but I've bought the Spectra branded units for other cars and trucks, they have always worked fine for me.

I've heard through the grapevine that Spectra was the OEM supplier for GM fuel tanks/sending units. Not sure if that's true, but I've had no issues with them in either of my trucks (84' and now my LS swapped 88' crew).

I put a Delphi in my '88 about a year ago. No complaints.

I put a Spectra in my 95, it worked fine. I used a Ac/Delco pump with it.

Well, I ordered a Spectra sender and I bought a Delphi pump. Thanks, everyone.
