    What year bed is this

Top photo is 1985-87 style. There is a plastic shroud the fuel hose neck screws onto, via 3 small screws.

    Rear Splash Panel

1973-80 I see them on trucks far more. I added a wrecking yard set to my '83. GM stopped using them after 1980. Cost cutting measure I am sure....

    What year bed is this

You are 100% correct, and yes, the plastic filler neck "shroud" is missing here. So you need the 3-screw metal style, 1984-87 model, fuel filler to hose now too.

    8' bed question

1977 will have a round, external gas cap. 1979-84 have the square fuel doors with the 2 bolt filler neck attachment. 1985-91 have the same square fuel door, but the plastic, 3 screw, filler neck inside

What is this 2 prong Plug above the oil filter?

Oil pressure senor #2. It does loop into the electric choke circuit. It is also an early style "SES" light. If there is an issue, like low oil pressure, the choke light will begin flashing. This sensor is used up until 1986, I believe.

K5 almost killed me brakes to the floor

Make sure your e-brake is working properly. That is a fail-safe before wrecking it. You just have to use your left hand to hold the release handle out.. Odd that it has 1983-84 headlight bezels in a 1982? Check your glove box brake code too, before ordering your new master cylinder.

    Mystery hole on fenders

Original 1980s lower GM side moldings were sold by the individual PN#. Each PN# was a seperate location on the vehicle and all the wheel opening trim had that 50 degree cut at and angle and the ends were factory sealed. The original GM trim had metal clips with a single pin that aligned with...

    New speakers in stock locations?

I bought all Pioneer 3-ways from Crutchfield, all mounted in the stock locations. Order the new, aftermarket, 6x9 cab corner mounts and rock it. You can always add a remote 10" subwoofer under your stock bench-seat later if you need more base.

1986 sbc th350 ran dry on ATF :o

If you still need to add fluid, start using Lucas Transmission Conditioner to finally top it off.

Period correct wheels for 86 K10 Stepside?

There would have also been the cool factory 8 hole alloy wheel option, in 6 lug obviously, in your case.

    700r4 slipping in cold weather

Start adding Lucas Transmission Conditioner if you still need to add fluid. Transmission hot, level ground of course.....

AC Condenser - Should I use New Or Original.

Yes, especially during low idle conditions, stopped at a red light, or sitting in a drive-thru.

2.73:1 Rear - Do I have a chance in hell to......

I KNOW you must add a large, external, transmission cooler to that 700R4. I would also add the bigger bottle of Lucas Transmission Conditioner at that time too. Finally, you will be better equipped to tow with a 3.42 rear axle ratio IMHO.
