Did the rear leaf springs. Used 2 floor jacks so everything was lifted even and orderly. Got everything in and found this this AM. Front small spot is the rear main is leaking (motor is coming out this Fall for a refresh and will fix that then)....but this pond looks to be from the output shaft seal? Wasn't there a day ago.

Everything on the truck is original 1985 so not surprised.

Is this a PITA to fix?

TIA

Easy fix. Pop the driveshaft out. Knock the seal out. Drive the new one in. Make sure you have a way of driving the new seal in squarely before removing the old one.

If it is in fact leaking from the rear tail housing it is an easy fix. Pull driveshaft, pop out seal with bass screwdiver, clean, tap new one in. Return driveshaft and ...:burnout:

Hell if You wanted to do a reseal. By the looks of the case it probably wouldn't hurt to drop it, clean it up and do an overhaul.

check for play in the bushing. if it is excessive you will need to replace it to . or the new seal will leak.
