Here is your sending unit
that silver thing in the middle is the check valve that prevents fuel from entering the evap line to the canister. If that is removed you could have the issue you are describing. If someone tried to bypass the tank switching valve they may have plumber the return line to the evap line on accident, possibly?
My truck was pushing fuel out the top of the sending unit and it wasnt going to the canister. Youre going to need a manual and have to get onder the truck to figure this out.
