I am hoping to get some help on the routing of the washer lines on an 86 Silverado. A different shop took the cowl cover off, pulled the lines out, and left them in the engine bay. I can't find any obvious place these lines attach under the cowl nor where the hoses to the sprayers on the wipers themselves would run.

I understand the 2 lines go under the cowl plate in the 2 notches at the top of the firewall but I have been unable to find any photos or descriptions of what happens under the cowl plate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you! This confirms what I thought.

I'm guessing the other shop filled in the mounting holes for the nozzles. It's hard to tell exactly what the mounting should look like from the diagram.

to my knowledge the nozzles on the late 80s are on the wiper arms. The wiper arms are pin type and have a hose that clips on them. I had them on the arms I bought to use more modern wipers on my square. I took them off because my nozzles are on the hood clipped to the bottom (70s hood was open under neath there )

Yes. The sprayers themselves are definately on the arms. I can't find any actual pictures of how the hoses from the arms go under the cowl. It's not obvious by looking at the cowl plate.

on my 90 burb, they come up through the cowl with the wiper arm, routed through the middle of the spring, and then clip onto the wiper arm. there is a plastic piece that helps hold the hose onto the wiper arm, but some black zipties would work also.

On my 85 this is how mine are done. I didn't do the T connector under the hood so I do not have one on the left side of the pic (passenger side). Instead I did the T connector under the cowl from driver to passenger.

Wish I could help you but idk if you can see with the cowl back on. I’ll look as well. Not to derail your thread but do you or anyone know where to get the right size hose for the individual lines that go to the wipers?
I’ve been unsuccessful in finding small enough line and one of them is a bit too short to stay connected.

Thanks everyone for all the help. I'll get back on this truck tomorrow and try to sort it out using the info everyone has provided.

On my 85, the nozzle attaches to the wiper arms via a clip-on feature on the nozzle itself. The hose comes out from the cowl, runs up the wiper arm and is held in place by a plastic "hose holder". Find it all at LMC.

1973-84 all had the metal washer spray nozzles bolted down to the forward edge of the windshield cowling (up under) and had the wiper motor mounted pump. 1985 was the first year for a windshield washer tank mounted washer pump. It is also when GM moved those spray nozzles, they clipped them up on the actual wiper arms themselves.

Can anyone show me a close up picture of the wiper arm to stock attachments? Specifically where the fluid hose is coming out in relationship to the stalk.

This hose seems to fit perfectly.
