hey guys, I've been working on my '83 k10 for a while now. I burned out a flushable link because I hooked the battery cables up backwards. After I fixed that, the bendix in my starter froze up. I just put a new starter on it tonight. 12/11/14. I proceeded to start the truck. nothing happened. I put the choke on full and it fired right up. I let it warm up for a minute or so and took the choke of and the truck died. I tried starting it multiple times without the choke on. it wouldn't start. as soon as I fully choke it. starts right up. I'm baffled by this.
also: I did have the carburetor off to clean it. when I put the carburetor back on I blew the flushable link.
