you blazed the ties off 3 times with no issues the 4th time it hopped, does the engine still feel as strong as it did? Have you checked for broken springs, loose ubolts, missing shims etc?

For sure check everything like kacy said , but if you are hooking up better you are wrapping your springs up and your pinion is trying to come up to far if nothing is messed up just get some shims to put your pinion angle down a bit and you should be all good. I have played with pinion angle's a lot on my drag car and 4x4's and have been able to stop wheel hop by doing that if nothing is broken.

Awesome discussion! Thanks for all the info. I'm gonna check leafs shocks pinion angle and it just rained all night so I'll try to see if if hops wet . The engine is an lq4 6.0 with a cam and headers .

OK so no wheel hop on wet roads. The driver side of my truck is about 2inches lower than the passenger side. Might be some spring issues there. leaf springs look and feel tight, no obvious issues. Without spending more than $200 is there a good traction bar solution?? Cal tracs are beautiful, but $369??? Maybe I need to replace springs first to level out the truck?? Can you see the lean in this pic?

Axle hop is common enough once you reach a certain power level and have a stock suspension. Your leafs are winding up and snapping back. Look into a pinion snubber or traction bars.

OK so I picked up a pair of used "slapper bars". Guy on craigslist had the truck (longer) version. I'll report back when the monsoon stops and I can get them on and get out there
