Next question.... will the 205 mate up to a NV4500 ?
Research I did ( small amount ) says I need a 208 transfercase to go behind a NV4500 ??

Probably need an adapter, possibly a different input shaft, depending on what transmission is currently in it.

100% np203

It will not mate up, there might be an adapter with all the doubler builds, but will be pricey.

If i need an adapter then that makes my driveshafts the wrong lengths too... lol...
Ive seen a video were a guy has a 305 sb with 700r4 tranny and the swop to NV3500 np208 was all a direct bolt it...
Seems that im looking for a donor truck lol

Agreed, it’s definitely a 203.

A 4500 will have a 32 spline tailshaft so your 203 will need to be from a th400 for the input spline count to be correct. (th350/203 is 27, the rare 4spd/203 combo is 10).

Hold on guys im going to get a 205 if thas the most desirable case to have !
To find out that my 203 is full time all time im not good with that...
And if the NV 4500 is the best tranny then I will get that one too...only crappy thing are my driveshafts....looks like im gonna have to spend money of newly rebuilt shafts...

The 205 is a stronger case and eliminates the chain, however, you may have to install locking hubs.

There are several different types of NP205 with various input splines, types, and bolt patterns. A figure 8 NP205 needs about a $600 adapter kit to bolt up properly. The kit linked below is specific for 10 spline input, but there are multiple kits for the various input types on the figure 8 units. https://www.polyperformance.com/adv...FID8klWgd9lSysJtSbCyTEIJ7UfR_1HxoCj94QAvD_BwE

The other option would be a round pattern NP205 from an 85-up 1 ton truck. There are a few of those as well, and it looks like you would need about $150 in parts and some machine work to get them to fit. Here's a thread on Pirate 4x4 talking about those two options. https://www.pirate4x4.com/threads/gm-nv4500-to-np205-round-pattern-with-32-spline-input.2706862/
