ok guys i might be getting a 2002 tahoe. and i want to pull the 5.3/4l60 for a swap into a undecided project as of yet.

when i parted out my 96 tahoe for the 5.7 vortec i just stripped all the wiring and kept anything i tought i might need. i ended up keeping way more than i needed to for that swap.

so what will i need to pull from the 02 tahoe for the 5.3/4l60

motor tranny ecm wiring (but how much of it ) y pipe and so on

does any body have a basic list of whats needed

it belongs to a buddy of mine and he is getting devorced and is going to sell it to me for next to nothing to piss his soon to be x wife off. they are selling all assets and she is taking him to the cleaners. so before she catches on to what he is doing i have to have what i want out of it

OK besides the normal stuff (motor/tranny/t-case4x4?) the main fuse box has three plugs the when unbolted from the bottom it releases the entire wiring harness from the truck for the motor n tranny. Its easy to leave it all hooked up and just pull it all out in one peice. Get the overflow bottle and rad and if your gonna run cats then id take the whole piping up to the joint at the back of the tranny. Otherwise just cut the pipes right at the front of the cats so you can weld new piping onto but remember to save the O2 bungs because you have to at least have the front ones for the computer to run the engine right. I just pulled all of this out of a 01 Burb for one of our guys on here doing the swap into his. (80shortwide)

And O2, you just cleared NOT needed the drive by wire gas pedal assembly. You should be able to retrofit your current gas pedal for that one. Might require a modified length cable though. Not positive on that.

And the Tcase if 4x4 probably not going to happen unless you're swapping to a Ford Left side pumpkin front axle. Or you'll need to find a Rh drop Tcase from a 4L80-E. If 2wd, then no issure there.

Are you sure it's got a 4l80 in that? I'd bet that's a 4l60 in that Hoe.

I would love to adapt a DBW setup to TBI.

It's NOT Drive by Wire yet. That's why I was saying it's OK, and DON'T need the drive by wire and SHOULD be able to convert the current pedal to the proper cable for linkage. DBW is 2003 & up.
