The question no one is asking is, why run 40 inch tires on a truck that could get away with running some 33s or 35s?
i question why guys slam their truck to within an inch of the pavement.....
for me personally, the wheelbase on my crew is as long as a JK, for were we go, 33's on a 14ft wheelbase just don't cut it.
plus i have always liked big lifted trucks since a kid, some people get off on lowriders, some people on stockness, others on musclecars, just give me some big rubber.
why is it lifted truck owners are always questioned about their big tires? if i had wanted 33's or 35's i would have put them on....

I wasn't referring to you, I was referring to the OP who mentioned not doing any more off-roading than fire roads. OP also has a k10, so a shorter wheel base. 35s can get you pretty far on decently technical trails. There are a lot more aspects to consider than tire size. Main reason for bigger tires past a certain point when wheeling it diff clearance. I've only seen pictures from a few members on trails where 40s are justifiable beyond liking the looks of them.

I have nothing against the looks of larger tires, nor people who do it just for the looks which is most people. Totally okay with that. I just ask why because I like to hear why...

@Frankenchevy cuz square bodies are meant meant to have big tires and big lifts. But in all seriousness im building it to be my dream truck and I think the big squares look the best.
I agree, lifted squares look good. I guess I’m easy, because I also like stock looking and lowered squares quite a bit too. I pretty much like all older pickups in various heights.
