I'd like to know how these parts will work on a manual brake truck. Specifically, will I need a different pedal pushrod, and is the pedal ratio different? I realize I will have to re-route the brake lines. In fact, I would probably go with a new proportioning valve mounted to the M/C to replace the 37-year-old one on the frame.

• 1997 C1500 roller cam 350 block and new Vortec heads
• TH350 trans with CBOP bolt pattern -- kind of an odd-duck
• American Autowire wiring harness and fuse panel (not the $700 model, but a $280 universal kit)

I guess the truck I’m building could be called Frankenstein, it’s got parts from countless other trucks. Things I have upgraded include:

Tilt column built from a pile of theft recover columns. The column includes delay wipers, flash-to-pass, and the headlight dimmer on the turn signal lever

Power locks, and power windows with the express one touch auto down.

Auto dimming rearview mirror with compass and outside temperature

Chime warning option, sliding rear window, the 4x10 speakers behind the seat, all from a donor truck.

Since my truck was originally 350 Olds diesel powered, when the factory engine died a 455 Olds was installed. I ditched the leaky Hydraboost system and installed a factory brake booster, and big radiator from a wrecked big block truck.

I’m sure I have forgotten a few things, but those are the major changes. This was my grandfathers truck, it’s worth exactly it’s widget in scrap to most people. But it’s considered family now.

I have an AX-15 5 speed manual out of a 1995 2wd Dodge Dakota. It was a big upgrade from the 3 speed!

So you're wanting to convert from manual brakes to vacuum assisted brakes with the 99-up GM truck brake booster and brake master cylinder. (If I understood correctly, below is my best guess)

I think the pedal pushrod will be appropriate with the booster/mc it is fitted for. The pedal throw in most vehicles are fairly similar, so I would guess using all the newer parts would be best. And modify brake pedal lever to what you think is going to work best/pedal placement

For brake proportion I would suggest a adjustable brake proportioning valve. Usually in the $40-$100 range
