What new tools have you got lately?

Is it the one with a 1/2” square ratchet drive? If so, it worked great for my th400/208. That combo should definitely outweigh the 4l80. It goes up and down and rolls easy. I used a 1/2” drive adapter on my small battery impact driver to speed things up a bit.

Yep that's the one! Thanks for the info and tips. I think I'll give it a shot now based on your experience with TH400.

The '97 I'm parting out won't be an issue - I'm going out the front with engine and tranny. (core support just about removed) But eventually I'll need to put that tranny in my '91 and I'll have to go in from underneath. I'm sure the trick will be getting tranny and jack underneath the rig. Probably will have to get it on jack stands as high as possible then drop it down with the tranny in location. Such a fun project to have to do all the while supporting the engine with a cherry picker.

I got my m12 tools a couple of days ago. I am impressed with the weight loss from the m18 stuff but that comes at a cost of what they are capable of. I can tell a fairly significant difference in the m12 and m18 impact and drill. Each have their place though so I am overall pretty happy. The m12 3/8 ratchet is a noisy little thing though. Probably not as bad as my air ratchet but it was surprising none the less lol

For sure. Wish battery was a LITTLE more capable on m12 but the weight and size really shine when you go to do something wih them or have to hold above your head.

Major score this weekend. My buddy came over to give me a well worn M18 fuel grinder. He had replaced it for a customer because it was "broken". He told the guy he would toss the old one for him and gave it to me to see if I could use it for parts or whatever. I found the broken part was the detent to chance the rock on the tool. It had gotten so gummed up with grinding crud it wouldn't work in or out. Took me about an hour of tinkering with it to get it all freed up and working again so I got myself a cordless angle grinder now! Woohoo

Not really a tool, but I did finally get around to building me a new welding/fab table for the shop, 6’x12’x1 1/2”. It sure will be nice to have a flat spot to work on. (Try to ignore the F350 in the background).

Awesome, looks really good and your shop is spotless! Very, very nice!!! I am appropriately jealous! Oh yeah, all except for that Furd contaminating the scenery! LOL

Thanks, been working at it, but still have a ways to go. It’s not really as clean as it looks. Work gets in the way lol.

As bad as I hate to say it , and I know I will catch hell for it the F350 is a pretty good old shop truck. Picked it up a couple years ago from a local fire department that was upgrading. ‘94 with a 460 and a 5-speed with 26,000 miles for $2350. Every decent C30 I found was 3 times the price.

Although I had to paint the cab to get rid of the lettering.

id like to see it with a built 300 rather than a 460. the 460 is just a dog.

I do work right downtown a number of blocks away from all that garbage.
But due to the virus I have been able to work from home.

I know where Tigard is! Spent some time there. Fought & Co fabricated 3 steel bridges for one of our projects.

Beautiful truck i always did like the obs f series.
