Is it the one with a 1/2” square ratchet drive? If so, it worked great for my th400/208. That combo should definitely outweigh the 4l80. It goes up and down and rolls easy. I used a 1/2” drive adapter on my small battery impact driver to speed things up a bit.
Yep that's the one! Thanks for the info and tips. I think I'll give it a shot now based on your experience with TH400.
The '97 I'm parting out won't be an issue - I'm going out the front with engine and tranny. (core support just about removed) But eventually I'll need to put that tranny in my '91 and I'll have to go in from underneath. I'm sure the trick will be getting tranny and jack underneath the rig. Probably will have to get it on jack stands as high as possible then drop it down with the tranny in location. Such a fun project to have to do all the while supporting the engine with a cherry picker.
