Not square body but close, GMT400. My nephew's truck has been sitting a few years and me and my brother decided to get it tuned up for him. We got the 350 in it back running and discovered milkshake oil. I called head gasket then from some other clues but my brother wanted to be optimistic. Changed oil and after several run cycles over the next few weeks it looked like everything sealed up. I'm on the road Saturday and got the message that we had milkshake again. I go out Sunday and we do compression check and #3 and 5 are completely dead. All the rest all read strong. We start pulling everything off to pull the drivers side head. First surprise, the bottom of the intake is cracked, directly below the TBI had a crack a good 4" long diagonally, no wonder we kept having gassy smelling oil. We hit a stall at that point, waiting on a puller for the power steering pump. Sitting around resting for when that shows up I kept seeing a very slow drip of water down the valley, thinking its from one of the water jackets I ignore it for a bit, then shine some light on it, there's a 3" long hairline crack in the block along the valley that's weeping water from the water jacket. We called 350 time of death at 12:30pm 4/6/2-25. Luckily we have another clunker truck the nephew can have.

I still have need to paint the bed, front fenders and the top of the hood. Life got in the way, and I sheltered a few horses last year because of the Park Fire which killed painting. Hard to paint when the horses think your going to feed them every time you go out to the barn.

Do I see a '63 Galaxy behind that lifted 4x4?
Yes sir, that's "Big Girl", the black eye of the plantation! No, it's the only Ford in a yard full of GM vehicles though. It's a 63 1/2 Fastback 500 with a 390. It is my favorite of the Galaxie flavor and I had ties to the car for the past 25 years or so. I had an opportunity and cash to make it mine and I brought her home. It's a fantastic cruiser and many folks think that it's an Impala...

I got the heads installed and torqued on my LS - should be close to getting it wrapped up and installed in the engine bay in the next few weeks.

I won't hold that one Ford against you. One of my good friends is a 1962 Galaxie guy. He started with his grandfather's one owner '62. I don't hold the Fords against him either, but we sure do tease each other!

He has several that he brought back from the grave. His current project is Hi-Po chassis. You know, a small production run available to the public, so the stock racers could have a little better unit to beat up on the track. I will admit, I did text him your picture, to make sure I got the year correct. That gave us a chance to chat.

Almost finished the new instrument cluster for mine.
Hi Guardian, I was just curious, if you're keeping OG bezel, and putting new instruments in there, or if you found a complete replacement unit? I'd like to upgrade the guages I have,... adding a bit more detailed readout than the stock ones. Anyway, just curious, where you landed on that. Thanks, and good luck with the upgrade.
