Well today was the day. I took the truck to the shop, and I was off today so I spent the entirety of the day working on the truck servicing and getting it back up to stuff for regular use. I'll do the list real quick and then talk about the spark plugs. So full tune, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, oil change, lube, transmission service, diff service, new u joints, fixed a broken exhaust hanger, rotated the tires, checked the brakes, packed the front wheel bearings, I think that was the main stuff but what I really want to talk about are the plugs.
Drivers side:
No not perfect, but not bad considering the plug al the way in the back there is #7 and a couple years ago I was blowing oil into the hole the point of fouling that plugs every 100 miles or so. After doing the valve seals and intake manifold I was hoping to get it though the summer, then the transmission went then life happened. 30K later (only 15k on that set of plugs) the old 305 is still doing pretty good.
Passegerside:
Also not to bad. I'm running NGK UR5 which is equivalent to the ac CR43TS, so I'm running a little cooler plug that the standard 45s which seems to help with ping control especially when I'm towing.
And just for fun here's the new fluids
That's ACDelco antifreeze and ACDelco transmission fluid. I've been running dex 6 in it since the rebuild because it's suppose to take a little more heat than dex 3 before breaking down. And of course blue streak ignition parts. And a gates thermostat.
