They look fine to me.....
Discount says that if they are at 2/32" they cannot service them including a rotation.

So, unless I wanted to do it myself or buy 4 new tires and waste half the life of the rears pretty much my only choice. On the plus side, it looks cool. :Big Laugh:

They put some sort of tire black on the backs to make them look newer.

No change from before - 33 × 12.50 x 15. For some reason even with the PO installed 4 inch lift the fronts rub on tight turns coupled with an incline. Seems like 32s are just as expensive or more than a 33 and there are less options so for now 33s are it.

BTW - I am getting maybe 22K out of mud tires but I don't rotate them as often as I should.

FYI for those looking at shoes. :)

Dang. 22k isn't very much. I've usually got 50k plus out of every set of MT's that we have run on a Suburban. Always load range E tires though, so maybe that's the difference.

Maybe you are on to something- these are load range C2. And only the one front was to the wear bars - the other may have been at 4/32" but compared to the rears they were pretty much gone. I think with better maintenance I could have seen 30K but can't expect much better from a mud tire on a half ton. I will see if I can do a better job with rotations this time ! :waytogo:

Discount will do the rations for you for free. I had a set of grabber MTs back in the late 90s that I got 40k out of. Every oil change id take the Blazer to Americas(discount in California)and have them rotate and check the balance. Wasn't supposed to have lifetime balance on 35s but I had a friend that worked there. I gave them to a friend who got another 5k out of them before they were finally goners.

I finally killed the TH350 last week. Time to upgrade so I picked a TH400 up this weekend to have built by a local guy. I only want to do this once so I'm trying to get rid of all the weak links in 1 shot. New driveshaft to be made with 1350 joints and maybe a new converter.

Started today dropping the exhaust and pulling 1 of the headers. Hoping i can slide the trans out without pulling the other. I'm not looking forward to fighting the top 2 bellhousing bolts :mad3:

Maybe next time look into the metric size tires. I ran 35s on my Tundra. When it was time to replace my tires, the tire shop suggested going metric. He said the metric was 1/4 inch smaller, and 1/2 inch narrower. 125.00 each cheaper.

Worth looking into, but no quick fixes through Discount.

33 x 12.50 x 15 = 315/70R15

32 x 11.50 x 15 = 275/70R15

Neither option shows for a 15" wheel but that doesn't mean there aren't some out there. :)

Side note :Amazing how QUIET the new mud grips are. The worn ones were so noisy.

I didn't think about the 15s. I have 18s on my Tundra. 15s are like 16.5. Getting hard to find.

I order online from some of the tire warehouse places and get local shops to mount and balance them. If anyone else goes this route be sure to call the shop and make sure they will do it, some local only do stuff like that certain days and some charge a pile to do it. luckily for me we have an old family tire place who have no issues doing it for anyone.
