Got a little more done on the Extracab. Didn't have much time due to having to go sign the paperwork for my wife's new car I bought her for our anniversary. Got the better doors put on. Found the limiting strap for the center console. Cleaned up the shop a bit.

Yes it is. So nice. Buick Envision. 4 cylinder turbo. That little sucker is fast. So quite on the inside. I was very impressed with it.

When we got my wife's Buick she was very hesitant because Buick's are for old people. I told her Buick is quality, that's why old people like them. Anyhow, went for a test drive on a Saturday, I was specific that we wanted to test drive a turbo model. Knowing it's 4 banger, it needs a turbo, and she knew how good my 2007 Forester is with it's turbocharged 4 banger. The salesman took us out, it had decent power but I could tell it wasn't a turbo car. I asked him if it was and he said it was. I was thinking this is gutless for a turbo car, but didn't say anything. My wife is very picky about dash light colors, white and red are okay, greens and blues give her headaches and mess with her eyes. She told them we would come back after sundown so she could see what the dash looked like. While she was checking that out I was reading the window sticker. No turbo, and I asked if this was the car we test drove. Yes, this is the car you test drove. You said it's a turbo car, it's not a turbo car, and I asked to test drive a turbo car. We didn't drive another that night, she still didn't want a Buick, she wanted something like her old Sentra, small, foreign, and something she could zip in and out of traffic in. We talked about it over the next couple days, Monday was a holiday and they were closed, so we went after work on Tuesday, and I made sure it was a turbo car this time. She did a couple spirited launches and drove it home that night...lol... She still wishes she could take it on mountain service roads and beat it up, and she does beat it up to some extent, but she has grown to love the Regal 2.0T.

On the test drive I put it in sport mode. When the turbo spooled up. Dang. I hit 125. So quite on the inside. It truly impressed me.

We still haven't tried any of that stuff with hers, but I have had to punch getting on the freeway. There was a big rig that wasn't going to or couldn't change lanes so hit the throttle. It lagged for a second and then we launched like we had a cable assist on an aircraft carrier. Like shot from slingshot we blew out in front of that big and by the time I could look in the rear view it was easily an 1/8th of a mile behind us. That was fun!

Today I figured it was time to clean out the winter crud from the air filters & make room for the spring dust we always get. Sprayed them down with the cleaner & hosed them off. Wasn't as bad as I thought they would be. Finished them off with a good oiling.

Also knocked off the dust in the compartment.

My last wash & wax job held out fairly well, so I hit her with some Quik Detailer. Good to go for a while.

I drove by the shop my truck went to at least 3 times this week and looked at it sitting where the tow truck driver dropped it on Sunday. I was contemplating calling the shop to ask if there were any updates even though we discussed it would likely be a while before they get to it. I understand that I dropped it on them out of nowhere:
Surprise! Here is my precious, help me figure out what to do next please!! Lol. Literally while texting my cousin this afternoon(Friday) to ask if I should just wait on the garage to get in touch with me or call them, they called me. It was a good chat and they seem ready to work with me on what is needed, priorities, cost etc. They are also willing to use parts I have purchased for the truck, although they cannot warrant or guarantee the parts, it's great to get on a level with this shop. This shop was suggested to me by my uncle in law some time ago but I have been taking the truck where it has been going most of it's existence. When it was time to decide where the truck would go to get to the bottom of this one, my wife suggested I give this shop a try seeing as how the shop I have taken it to has always given me the vibe I was wasting their time. No news on the truck yet obviously, but I have to say the fact that they got back in touch and were friendly has lifted my spirits.
