What have you done to your square lately??

I know it can safely be done but there are certain things that have a danger factor that I just don't mess with. Could I do it? Sure. Do I really want to/is it worth the risk? Nope. I have a buddy from HS that works for a garage door company, he can do it lol

I’m too fckin cheap. Hahaha Although it’s getting hard to find a place that will sell a diy’er torsion springs.
One kickass hardware store sells them. Limited availability. Found one once there that worked. Last time, called around and a local garage door guy agreed to sell me one. I had all the specs and he argued that I needed LH wind vs RH or vice versa. He gave me the wrong one first. Was a pain in the ….

Took out the power window regulator out of the 77 last night.
It had been removed before and I assumed someone replaced the motor as there’s a couple missing bolts and it was misaligned.
I diagnosed a “bad” motor previously.
What I found was the original Delco motor that works beautifully and only issue was the pivots and rollers were froze up from old age and white grease that was like wood trim putty!
Got most everything freed up and will likely have no issues. Rollers aren’t sloppy but 2 of them haven’t loosened up like they should yet.
Man I love this truck!
Guess I’ll do the same to the passenger side even though it still works good.
Time to refurb the door cards, add a little sound deadening to the door panels since it’ll be all apart.

You should add the relay kit to add years to the life of those motors

Battery was starting to struggle a bit and tester said it was at 60% CCA rating so got a new battery from Summit and dropped it in. I had an Odyssey battery in my 87 square and had the recommended battery tender for it so got another one. The old battery will be used in the horse trailer until it completely dies.

Also got some new, clean floor mats!

It’s a power distribution box I mounted for the fuel pump and fan circuits. Also ran a heavy cable directly from the alternator for charging. (Maintained the existing wire from alternator to the factory distribution box on the firewall.)

I tabbed a plastic cover for it and attached the cover with those red nylon nuts to help prevent shorting it with a wrench or whatever.

All the local HVAC supply places won't sell me nuthin'. Literally nothing at all because I'm just a DIYer. I only needed a draft inducer motor, not even anything refrigerant or propane related. I had to buy from some random place online.

I had the same experience in Arizona. HVAC supply shop was 150yards down the road from my house. Had the AC fail to turn on in the middle of summer. Went up on the roof and troubleshot it with my multimeter and found the fan start capacitor was toast in about 3 minutes. Pulled it off and walked over to the supply place and had to argue with the guy for 15 minutes before he would sell me the $10 part that was right there on his shelf. He didn't want to sell me anything because I didn't have a license, but I told him I'm fixing my own AC and don't need a license to work on my own house. He finally relented when I told him I live right across the street and you can watch me put it in if it makes him feel better.

STILL no torque converter yet…so I made the traditional cardboard to-do list and put it under the wiper blade. Going to pick up some ATF tonight. And be ready…I’m chomping at the bit!

He asked about what all the gauges are for, how the lighter works and if it would be good for drifting Then we decided where we’re gonna take it fishing for the first time we road trip in it together, in another month or two; Good Lord willing, and the creek don’t rise!

I “rode shotgun” (in the garage) with my 12 year old son behind the wheel, for a little while today. He asked about what all the gauges are for, how the lighter works and if it would be good for drifting Then we decided where we’re gonna take it fishing for the first time we road trip in it together, in another month or two; Good Lord willing, and the creek don’t rise!

I built a '70 Chev stepside with my son, and he liked drop-shifting to do burnouts... and breaking transmissions. I told him the tranny problems were his to pay for and it took him two times before he realized drop shifting was maybe a bad idea.
