no magic. i didn’t tell you it took 4 times painting them. Waiting two weeks before putting them on. Then they still weren’t fully cured and then yesterday this happened from the tonneau cover. Stripped them all the way down, now using an adhesion promoter, and repainting again today.

I feel your pain. :(

If those are metal, I've had good luck with pre-heating pieces to about 80° before spraying, and then cooking them at around 110-120° afterwards.

Baked enamel finish. You just have to be careful with temperature control. You can end up with a wrinkle finish if you're not careful.

Looks great! Did this air cleaner top have a drilled through hole? I have one we found at a swap meet decades ago that has a threaded hole for the carb stud. Of course you still have to trim the stud to fit....
Just a hole in lid no threads.

Need some opinions. Swapped rims to see how it like it. The rallies actually have white letters but on the inside. I'll have them turned out if I decide to go with them. I really like the rallies but they are about 3 inches shorter than the others. So that will raise rpms on highway and now has more fender well space. But I do like that the back tires are wider than the front tires. Kinda torn more than I thought I'd be. Thought it'd be rallies all the way. Hence the reason I bought them. Lol

Maybe once the white letters are out it'll make a difference.

I'll have to drive it with them on too to see how it like it too.

Sanded the hood, epoxy primer again and the two more coats of high build primer. Also sprayed the tailgate handle and fuel door.

In the process of smoothing out the firewall, commonly found in the rain trays water dirt like to freeze in behind the seam sealer and create a few weak spots easily punched through with a flat screwdriver - lead me to a question - where does a guy get new AM firewall grommets for the wiring/ cables/ harness - or is it going to be all at the wreckers?

I like them both but I am definitely more of a fan of the rallies.

Well it's been a while. Most of you probably know I've been up against some life issues and while there is still a lot up in the air I'm trying to get back to doing the things love. My square has been, parked since last September. So we had a nice stretch of weather this weekend so I started it after changing the oil and giving it a good looking over. She fired off on the second try. Not to bad for all that sitting!

Took her for a short drive and then did a big clean up inside and out scrubbing the truck down and making it respectable again.

So I didn't really accomplish anything on the list of things I'd like to do on the truck but shes back to operating status and gonna see the road again!

I think they actually made them both ways. One I have is Cal Custom and it's probably from the 70s. It's going on an old truck I have (older than squares and definitely won't be stock when I'm done with it).

Burped the LS coolant. Temperatures are about 195° now. Was hitting 210° before. I did this by taking the top radiator hose off and raising it up about 18" then filling until water started coming out of the radiator, slap it back on.
