I see you live in The Great State of Texas. Where at? If you are close I'll come help you drop them. And even help you put them back in...LOL
Wylie, and just may, lol.
No success today after lunch.
Does that damn poly cover have to come down 1st? The strap bolts stick through da frame (front above) and wouldn't let it come down after I took out the 8 bracket bolts.
So after prying a bit, I stuck a socket through the frame hole and loosened the back one up (well thats better). Then she started coming down, but you CAN NOT get to the front one. So, sh*t I bolted it back up. Got the PB on the rest of poly cover bolts, but that's some rusty sh*t and figure I'll see if I can take that down 1st tomorrow. Then have another looky lew.
Hey, hey, contain your laughter.
Good night men.

How far NE are you in this great state?
Maybe if you are on your way down to Wylie to help SGT, you can stop by my shop and help me drop my tanks too. ;) hah!

Your a long ways Brother! I'm basically DFW. North East. I appreciate it though. We'll get there. Anything worth doing is worth the struggle. Assemblies are on the way as of yesterday, so that's motivation. I'm looking up straps, and will get hoses. Saw some posts and good ideas when I did a search (very recent, lol). I'll post an update so we can celebrate or pat me on the head.

Sounds like it would be easier to find someone with a GM tech 2 hand held scanner or a scanner with OBD1 capability

Ah, okay - yeah I'm on the far East side of McKinney on outskirts of the DFW area as well.. Depending on where Gus is in Wylie, I'm probably within about 15 miles from him. :)

Sgt Gus, let me know if you want an extra pair of hands sometime. I can pop down. I'm just on the north side of Lavon from you, near Princeton.

Overall, the numbers on the Edelbrock (as I’ve learned and watched the AFR) aren’t awful, needs to be fatter on part throttle and leaner at WOT. I switched to a .104 jet and a .073/.037 metering rod, and went from a .098 secondary jet to a .095. Inching in the right direction, but I’ll need to go to a skinnier metering rod yet again, and will probably order a .092 secondary jet. Already on the most aggressive accelerator pump setting and on the silver (most aggressive) step up springs.

Got the welds mostly ground down so a thin coat of body filler will make it look like it should. Shot some self etching primer on it so it won't start to rust. Started cleaning up the driver side in side fender. Had to weld in a couple of square nuts for mounting to the core support. Also found a dent on the face of the fender. Finally got to use a tool I've had for a few years, just haven't had the opportunity to use it. Never used a stud gun before, there is a learning curve...lol
