Cuz the daily's still down, I'm still driving the C10. The hwy was fine on Tuesday, we were all going ~40ish. Once I got off the exit and onto the side roads, that's when it got interesting. Turned right off the ramp and stopped at QT to top up the tank and grab a couple cokes inside, as I was leaving I nearly slid into the tanker truck that was refilling their tanks. No salt or sand on that side of the lot apparently.

Leave QT and go left back across the hwy to the other side of Lawrenceville Suwannee Rd (major thoroughfare through here) and it's baadddd. Apparently they had not salted that side of it at all. So we're all crawling 2nd gear, like 20ish. Come up to the neighborhood (I turned on my signal a long ways back) I'm down to first gear and under 10mph at this point. Go to get in the turn lane and lightly tap the brakes to make the turn, truck just slides right on past the entrance. Now I'm watching the curb that's getting closer and trying to pump the brakes to get it to turn where I want or stop. Thankfully it stopped before I hit the curb.

So I get out and walk over to look at where I need to go. The entrance is a STEEP, big ole hill and it's pretty icy already and it's curved at the bottom with cars always parked on the road. I debated leaving my truck up at the road but didn't want it to get hit in the night. So I manage to back up where I slid through and slid the rear out into the main road when there was no traffic to point the nose straight down the hill and send it. Thankfully, I only got a small slide before I got back to dry pavement but there was one more decent sized hill to climb before I make it to the house. That one was pedal down, sideways in 2nd gear clawing to get up it. This neighborhood stays shaded most of the day so it didn't melt until about 3pm yesterday, so I got a snow day lol

This was when I got home Tuesday, I was mainly worried about hitting those cars as I came down the hill.

I've been troubleshooting no fuel up to TBI. Checking lines, clearing lines, new filter (old was clear), put in dohicky to hook up psi gauge (no psi).
I hear LH pump run, and it pushed fuel out after tank switch valve, but guess not enough.
I'll run some air from valve back to pump, then retest.
But, thinking I have to man up and drop tank(s). See if I need whole mech or just pump.

Yay for you! I assume last pic is your driveway? That's a no go if icy, LOL.

I’m not sure why, but everyone seems to fret dropping the tanks on these trucks, 8 bolts, 1-3 hoses, a few wires.

Siphon/empty the tank is easier of course than trying to do it full.

Never had any issues even being in the rust belt.

Cool, good to know. Guess it's always just tackling something I haven't before, then I'm like, that wasn't bad, just like someone said, LOL!
I have a siphon hand pump and trans jack, so should be fine.
The tanks have the black poly protectors...same bolts drop the tank or will they be separate? Diagrams not clear to me.

Yeah, sounds like one pump is dead and one's weak. Hopefully the tanks aren't full lol

Haha no, thankfully our driveway is further down and flat. That one's a no-go for me even in the dry lol. I'll never understand why people buy houses like that

This is our (well, her parent's house) driveway. Flat and in a cul-de-sac

Two brackets that mount to the frame, 4 bolts each, you will be working from the inside of the frame rail. Don’t forget to remove the ground wire that goes from the sending unit to the frame before you begin to drop the tank.

When you go to reinstall install new hoses on sender, leave them plenty long and mark them, snake them over the frame rail. No reason to fuss around with short hoses.

Great info on the tank dropping here.. I need to do both of mine (replace both with all new parts instead of fussing with the nasty fuel and rusty mess that they are from sitting parked since 2006).
