Why the weird trailblazer PS system instead of just the stock PS pump from the original motor? The pulley shaft(and pump as far as I can tell) are identical between my original K25 PS pump and the one on my 2011 Burb and the L9H donor motor I bought. They were all interchangeable.
Can you use a small block PS pump on an LS bracket? I don't think you can. But that's what the motor came with, it's out of an '06 Envoy Denali. Was originally gonna use an LS truck pump but found out the whole alt/PS bracket is different, the bolt pattern is different for the pumps. I think I will source a truck bracket and convert it in the future though. I never considered failed motor mounts/sagging and causing that problem when I built the truck

I'm down to the cab on body work. Pulled most of the interior and looks pretty good. Must have been a bad day when this truck ran across the seam seal people... its everywhere its not supposed to go and not in the seams. Cleaning that up and cleaned up some pitting around the door jamb area and a pillar. Pulled the windshield as a last thing I did and .... rusted out spots in both lower corners. the pinch weld is solid so I have some more patching to do.... maybe one day I'll get this thing ready for paint.

truck is in primer!! hopefully this weekend I can get the interior and jambs painted. I'm going back with the original two tone pint scheme so that's going to be painful with all the masking and tapeing that I'm setting myself up for.

I don't think GM has changed the pump body in 30 or 40 years. They just stick the same pump body into a different case. Maybe they are just so close to being the same that I assumed they are identical? I have the original one from my 1980 K25 and one from the 97 K2500 Big block that I have absolutely interchanged parts on and they bolted right up. The one I have on my bench from the suburban looks 100% identical, but maybe they have a slightly different bolt pattern and thread.. not sure. Your front bracket looks just like mine and seems like it would just bolt right up.

I actually had RemFlex's on there this last time and straight up had blown them out, like a chunk was missing. The flanges on these things may be warped at this point, I'll check them for flatness and maybe replace them when the motor comes out in the off season. I never had a problem when I originally built the truck with MLS gaskets, went 2.5yrs without changing gaskets but it had a flex coupler in that exhaust system. Idk if it's that or the mileage/heat finally warping them
That's the first time I've EVER heard of someone blowing out remflex gaskets. I had an exhaust leak on the stock manifolds because I had the dreaded rear bolt broken off in the head on the passenger side where you couldn't get to it to extract it. I used some ICT billet bolts and remflex gaskets on that without a rear bolt and it sealed right up until I did the motor swap. I even reused the remflex gaskets on the new motor with the cheap speed engineering headers and haven't had a single leak. I do have a flex joint in my system.

From what I remember, the vortec 350 pump and reservoir is the very same as what was used in the LS pickups the following years. I don't remember about the pulley though.

Yeah, the brackets look identical till you look at where the pump bolts up. I thought they were the same too, I even bought a truck pump to bolt on when I originally had fitment issues with the Envoy reservoir. But when I found out the bolt pattern was different, I just massaged the top rail down with a BFH enough to clear

The truck pump uses 4 larger bolts in a square bolt pattern vs the 3 smaller bolts in a half moon of this one

I don't know what truck pump you got, but my 2011 Burb 5.3 and the 09 Denali 6.2 both used three bolts in a similar pattern to what you are showing. I have it sitting on a stand in my shop right now, I'll try to remember to get some measurements and pics. One of them had a solid pulley and the other had a windowed pulley that was super convenient because I could remove the pump without needing to remove the pulley. Come to think of it, I have the 97 L29 sitting in my shop right next to it... I can probably check to see if the LS pump I have will bolt to the Vortec BBC bracket, because I know that is the same pattern as my K25(because I took the pump from the L29 to replace a worn out one on my K25)

Huh. That's very interesting! I just assumed (you know what that does) that all the trucks were the same. I believe I ordered a pump for either an '05 or '06 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3 since that would be roughly the same generation. I'll have to go look at my '05s pump to see what it has

Drove it to vote early today. When done voting truck won't turn over. It has been driving great lately even after realizing I have the slight radiator leak. Even with the leak the truck seems to be holding coolant. The Last project I did with it was replacing the power window regulator so I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery often. Even after doing this it has been cranking and cruising just fine. I'm kind of baffled it suddenly won't crank. Some of you all may remeber my AC compressor is acting up. I did have to use defrost while driving around the other night. The volts typically sit right past 12 almost at 13. When turning the key it only jumps to about 9 to 10 and then one click and nothing but check engine light stays on. I am going back with my wrench to see if I need to slightly tighten the posts. Battery?Alternator? Would the ac compressor have anything to do with this?

How old is your battery? I have had more than one just randomly die at the first cold snap of the year

It's the battery I bought the truck with about 3 years ago.

Yep. I'd take the battery out and get it load tested before going any further. That's most likely the culprit
Just recharged the portable charger and it fired up immediately. I drove it a bit to get my son from tennis lessons. About to see if it charged...

It charged during my ride enough to crank up again right after shutting off the engine to wait on my son. I got it home and now I need to go get my CRV.
