Without getting onto my computer. I'm on my phone right now. I can't tell you who the heavy duty is made by but yeah I know Hayden makes both the O'Reilly's and the Napa and Carquest severe Duty fan clutches anyway. It sucks it's such a simple item you'd think it would be easy to get one that works but no. But let us know how the heavy duty one holds up please. In a moment of weakness, I stopped by O’Reilleys and bought one of theirs. The severe duty that I purchased from NAPA that was junk, was the same that O’s was selling in a different box. Same part number even.
So I went down a notch to the Heavy Duty and drove it in traffic this morning. Problem solved. If it too fails, I’ll take your advice on ordering an original AC Delco unit.
Thanks bud!@ChuckN Glad she's running cooler. Congratulations on the 90 days as well!
It's probably the 2 inch raised hood. Causes to much air flow. Like I said before I'd be willing to bring you a stock hood, and take that off your hands. Just trying to help a brother out...LOLPut the 84 on ramps to change starter. I know I went and got it inspected before I changed it. It was starting good until today. Had to wack it so I might as well go ahead and put the new one on.

I may be able to drive it on my vacation. I can't wait to make it roar.
Congrat on the 90 days brother, keep up the great work. I'd be interested in the dash trim. I'm also looking for the door trim.@SirRobyn0 will do, it’s one of the highlights of my day to come here to read and post (is that sad?)But, so far it’s running cooler than it was with the original, and operating as it should. Part number is 2747.
This morning started off well with a trip to the AA meeting, approaching my 90 days of sobriety. The truck stayed nice and cool.

After that, I got in contact with a guy on Facebook Stealerplace, and got a good OEM hood off a ‘84 GMC. Bad pic, good price. He threw in the dash pad for another 20 bucks. It’s strangely without a lot of cracks, but some dingus screwed a cell phone mount to the top of it. Might try to salvage it. If anyone wants the Sierra trim off the pad, let me know.

Forgot to mention I gave the tank a shot of silver paint. And I found ethanol free fuel to go into this tank once its in.I had to drop my fuel tank and clean it out. Cleaned a butt ton of rust and gunk like you wouldn't believe. Watched a YouTube video on how to clean out a rusty fuel tank and it consisted of white vinegar, CLR, baking soda, and warm water plus some crusty fasteners to get off stubborn grime. I have clogged my carburetor twice and I said enough is enough. Boy what a surprise that tank was! And a power washer also helps. And pales to dispose fuel of your own money that's tainted. Live and learn.
Im in CA the Ethanol content is high I had to replace the accelerator pump (viton) to handle it I use a bit of stabil hard to get ethanol free gas here it really gunk's everything upForgot to mention I gave the tank a shot of silver paint. Two chains I noticed on the list of places that frequently have ethanol free gas are Buc-ees and Murphy (which is a division of Walmart). Some of the city WMs won't have the gas station on the store property, but it usually is nearby. My Vortec trucks seem to be cool with E10/E15 gas, but if I get back into carbs I'll be actively looking for ethanol free gas.Im in CA the Ethanol content is high I had to replace the accelerator pump (viton) to handle it I use a bit of stabil hard to get ethanol free gas here it really gunk's everything up
PM me your address- I’ll toss it in a box. Plastic studs look like they are all there except for one. I’m heading back to work for a stretch, but when I get a box that it fits I will send it to ya.Congrat on the 90 days brother, keep up the great work. I'd be interested in the dash trim. Timing first, then carb. After a top end rework and carb rebuild plus... and 6 weeks off for installation of a new knee, the truck had a few minor issues. 1 Clutch making grinding feeling on up/down, and 2 throttle sticking... Fixed both with pb blaster. Will grease properly soon. All fixed.
Continued to more carb and timing adjustments to dial all the widgets in.
