Been buying all the necessary stuff to put AC in my truck finally (it's way hotter this year than last, can't do it anymore lol). Got all my hoses and fittings from Cold Hose, so that left finding a bracket. My 5.3 came out of an Envoy Denali which uses a completely different bracket/compressor that bolts into the factory oil pan. So when I changed over to the Muscle Car pan, I didn't have my lower mounts and I've seen guys twist the bracket off at WOT. So I found this fancy billet lower mount that bolts to the oil pan and gives you the lower bolt holes. Turns out, it won't work with the Muscle Car pan :emotions122:

So after talking to a couple buddies for a few days, I just decided to run the pickup version. I liked the Envoy one cuz it was more compact and had TONS of clearance at the frame but there just isn't a good way to make it work with my setup. So today at lunch I drove down to our local junkyard (he's a customer and friend of ours). He told me "go check the core pile" and in the stash of hundreds of engines, there was ONE bracket. Score!! :happy107:

Got A package in the mail today from @AyWoSch Motors. He took time from his schedule to go and get me a steering column mounting plate from his local salvage yard. I couldn't wait until tomorrow, I sand blasted it in preparation for powder coating. I pulled the one out of the Blazer while I was at it. I know it's not a huge part, hell it's barely seen, but it is just one of those things I know it is done, and done correct. Thanks Ayden for taking the time to get it.

Ordered 3 from Rock - in order to make the 2 I need. *Hoping* they work out. My new PS pump is from a 97 so trying to find lines that will adapt. If they do, I'll certainly add pics.

Starting mocking up my AC last night. Nothing clears the frame like I'd hoped :893Chainsaw-Smilie- I specifically ordered the cold hose 90* adapters for the compressor so I wouldn't have to cut the frame. Dangit.

Had to jump mine off today since I haven’t cranked it in 2 weeks. With this hot weather we’ve had lately I’ve been too damn lazy!

Got the Hydrobooster on, went and got the master cylinder from Napa. Put a newer hood release cable in. Started a new pile of thing to sand blast, and powder coat. Put the motor up on the engine stand just some little goofy stuff like that today...

I drove the Suburban for the first time in over 2 months (not neglect, just been gone) and boy howdy, what a hoot. The transmission was even shifting perfectly on full throttle, so that bottle of Lucas that I dumped in a few months ago has definitely helped.

Little more progress today.
Son got the bed bolted down and finished putting tail lights back in.
I got the carpet in and then we got the seat in.
Painted the bumper hitch too.
Learned a couple cool things from my buddy today. Used a 1/2” socket heated up with a torch to cut the holes in the carpet for the seat and seat belt bolts.
Also “restored” the sun faded tops of the interior door panels by heating them with a torch. That was amazing. It was like a torch spray paint can. Turned them back to original color like nothing!
And took a couple hot laps and roasted the old tires a couple times!!

Looking good! Just a heads up, alot of guys online say the heat trick works but then they fade again even faster. Just be prepared to re-dye them sometime in the future
