The boy removed the ginormous trailer hitch and bumper combo that came on the rear of our truck.

It was super heavy and welded here and there as well.
His Milwaukie tools made quick work of all of that crap.

This is a sport bumper apparently that he found in the junkyard and decided that it was the one for us.
He is holding it up as it was still loose and not yet fully in place.

Now the truck has lost a ton of weight in the rear and you can definitely tell it has lost a few pounds back there.

Well, kind of sorta counts . Got a letter stating that my credit card dispute with the CA carpet vendor has been resolved in my favor.

So, either need to find out from LMC when they think their back ordered brown Sub carpet might be in, or give the other ass clowns a second chance but with a signature for delivery required and have it shipped to work ...

I am leaning LMC.

Oh, yeah - Goldie is finally at the doc's to see if they can figure out the brakes, and the newer issue of lazy oil pressure.

It would be my luck that I get all the TVS shot sorted and then immediately it's time to open the wallet for a motor...

Got Goldie back from the doc's- oil pressure gauge is pretty accurate. 32 psi hot oil pressure at 2000 rpm.

Blech.

The motor will live on it, but not so sure on my sanity.

No actual brake work done, but professional advice including that the rear shoes could be adjusted out more.

So, I did.

Was just going to make sure it still rolled freely tonight- no headlights high or low beam. All others worked.

Yup- been here, done that before. Devanced was closed but Vato Zone was open til 10 so 1 lifetime warranty dimmer switch later - along with dielectric grease ( I used bulb grease) the lights be working again.

The truck rolls freely in the slope of the driveway, BTW, so I guess the shoes aren't too far out now.

Gave it a bath and removed the roof rack because it needs a fresh coat of paint. I can't decide if I'm going to put it back on though, it's handy for hauling home bulky items like lumber but it's a pain to wash the top of the truck with it on. I'm guessing it also causes a 1-2 mpg penalty in fuel economy. Guess I'll leave it off for now and think about it.
