Been thinking about my brakes and that maybe it is a hydraulic issue.

So, I saw this and decided to try it today.

Well, I figured with the key on my coworker helper would see the brake light come on in the dash. No go with the PS bleeder screw out.

OK - let's try both.

Nope. WTF?



Brakes seem a tad softer now but I cannot tell that I ever centered, or offset, the proportioning valve.

Nasty looking fluid, too.

Work will continue.

ya, there not bilstiens, kings or reservoirs, but i don't blast thru the bush or desert at 80 mph...and i really don't want to spend 3g's on shocks...
got the stabilizers and fr dr's ones on then the snow and -10 hit...that's it, i'm done...

i hosed everything down 3 times with penetrating oil tht i got from work. when teh fittings started to move i started to work the fitting (loose, tighten, repeat) until the fittings came out. having a rotted wood bed floor did make it easy to get to the main fitting on the line that you are describimg but that was the easy one to pul. the two at the block were very fun to work with. on the subject of penetrating oil. I work at a place called Quality Fasteners in San Antonio and i purchased a can of pb blaster penetrating oil and a can of the stuff we have been selling for years. i used the pb blaster on the driver's side line and one application was enough. i used the store brand stuff on the back line and three applications later it seemed to work. if you are owrried about breaking a line because of a frozen fitting penetrating oil is your friend and i would recomend the pb blaster, lots and lots of pb blaster

Been useing PB blaster for years. Some love it some hate it. It's been around decades. I like it cause it penetrates as good as any I have used and stays oily for a long time unlike things like WD40

I normally use PB Blaster as well. Occasionally Liquid Wrench if it's on sale for a much better price. WD-40 doesn't seem to ever work too well for me.

Edit. I forgot about Brute Blast. That stuff worked awesome too. We ordered a bunch of it when I worked at the garage, but I haven't used it or seen it since then. It may not be manufactured anymore.

$1500, and the guy threw in 2 nice tires and rims that go with it, a new muffler, a blanket for the seat, a bunch of tools that are in the tool boxes on the side, and gave me a couple gallons of gas becuse it was low.
Plan on making a tow truck out of it. Got my hands on an old style wrecker bed. Should be a fun project. Got some plans, haha.

Heavy som-biotch tho, I can't pick it up, and in no wimp, I can pick up a 350 long block (barely).

Also go some other things. Got a 73 chevy core support grill bracket, headlight brackets and center hood latch, spe ofic to the 73-74 models, so can put on my 74 egg crate grill on.
Also got headlights, lower valance, orange 74 marker lights, fender/side marker lights, and a power steering pump.

My 81 GMC currently has 207000km or approximately 160000 mile and I would rough estimate 300 passes down the drag strip. It went down the track 50 times this last summer alone. In 1988 it was a track champion in the street class. And the transmission has never been out of the truck, oh it did get a shift kit early in its life but that was just pull the pan. That said I have been wondering when it will start giving problems so I bought a core transmission and rebuilt it and will install it in the spring/summer. Original is a lockup and this new one is standard converter and I am going to install a higher stall converter. Built with red plates and machined to accept 5 friction plates per clutch other than the front clutch. HP sprag race and new sprags. Rebuild kit from Cyclone is real nice to use and installed a Transco 1-2 shift kit.

Thanks for the advise, I believe it. My back is already a bit messed up from the stupid crap I have tp do at work. I only do that if I absolutely have to.
I had a buddy help me with the bumper, I was not messing around with that thing, to damn heavy. I'll probably use the tractor to put it on.

And lifting the 350, I think only did that twice. I dont get any help with my projects, have to do it all by myself. Took it from the ground where it was plopped, up onto a pallet, so itd stay safe, then again from the pallet to the bed on a truck to bring it away. Didn't have a tractor or a hoist at the time. I do now.
