Yes it is Gunmetal but not sure if it's actually an original color for an '82. What I do know is the truck has an older repaint and as I learned through doing some touch up this winter the color was painted over a black base and where I blended the two on the sides of the body you can hardly tell the difference, but when I painted the hood separate and I used gray primer- you can tell it ended up probably 2 shades lighter in color. My wife has consistently told me she wants to see the truck all black when I redo the body next winter, but after seeing the color of the hood and how nice the color came back on the rest of the truck when I did a little resto work on it this winter I think we're going to keep it this color but do it again over a black base like it currently is. It's got a couple different hues to it depending on daylight and since polished up I really like it now!

My black mirrors are already dull af from the sun. Anything to bring back the shine or do I just live w them/ buy something else?

4 months sitting outside i guess was too much to ask.

Well today it got a set of MSD 8.5mm wires, MSD Blaster coil, drag link, fuel filter and removed the front bumper to prep to install a hidden winch and raise it up bc of a body lift.

Also found the **** plastic capped radiator is leaking like a siv. So ordered a 3 row aluminum replacement with e fans and switch.

While replacing the fuel filter found it was slam packed with crud so I may have to drop the tank and clean it up.

Also while I was at it on ordering junk I picked up a jet 6 pack and a throttle body spacer.

Ahh and one more thing to add the wife ordered me the other day a 40" light bar. She saw it on a flash deal and thought of me. So I am thinking of putting that guy on top of the front bumper or behind the grill. Decisions decisions.

Got the bumper brackets powder coated...I'm getting better at it. Trying to talk my wife into letting me get a bigger oven, so I can do bigger stuff...lol

Yes it is a Eastwood. I started years ago with a HF, it well you get what you pay for. So I bought my first Eastwood powder coating gun. It was the single volt nothing special. It worked better, and I still have it. Than I started doing more pieces, and Eastwood put on sale the dual volt powder coating gun, and that is the one I'm using now. I buy all of my powder from PrismaticPowers.com. They are a bit more in price, but have far superior quality. Flows better, lays out better, and they are always having some sort of sale.

I have done quite a few pieces now, and the key is making sure the piece is clean, just like a paint job. I have a sandblasting cabinet, that is stage 1. Every piece gets pre gassed, that's stage 2. Every piece gets cleaned with a good degreaser while wearing rubber gloves, that's stage 3. Follow the directions for the powder is key. Granted more all cook the the same time, and same temp. There are a few that are different.

I like the fact that I can powder coat any piece that can fit into a standard kitchen oven. I do have my own oven out in my shop. DO NOT USE THE ONE YOU EAT OUT OF! I would like a bigger oven so I can do larger pieces. I just don't think the wife is going to let me do that right now...she wants to redo the spare bathroom...AGAIN!!! LOL

Yeah that is definitely my fault. I should have let her ride lol.

Also found the blower stopped working and my damn windows don't work either. I think it is from rain water in the door so that will have to get torn apart as well.

I was going to say that's not an oem that's an era correct ugly tube grill, then I went down. Haha. I got rid of the exact grill off mine a year ago. I have the same style step bumper...and same thing first pic I was like that's not a step bumper? That looks so much better than that original car style bumper.

Kinda crazy that you removed the bumper that everyone else prefers to install. Makes more sense on a 1-ton though.

I like the step bumper more as well. The other looks out of place to me. It also helps to step up to get things out of the bed or to get into the bed....no I'm not really short either at 6'2"

Some polish & a buffer should bring them right back.

Installed my new front sway bar, installed my new interior pieces, headliner looks good.

the reproduction trim pieces don’t line up, don’t fit well and pretty much are garbage.

now gunna look for a junkyard set unless someone has a better alternative

Not on installation instructions so im going on a limb here, in order to get the best results, should I tighten up the sway bar a bit before I take it off jacks and then fully torque it to spec? Or tighten to spec on jack stands? (its only slightly lifted maybe 1-2 inches.

I figure itd be best to torque down at actual right hight....
