I had one once that was a super nice original truck. I traded it off because I was worried it was too nice for me and I'd just ruin it. At times I regret that decision, but I still think I made the right choice.

This kid I went to high school with, his dad had a beautiful perfect condition 69 convertible camaro with black interior and white paint with rally stripes, he would drive it around town sometimes, but I never saw him more than a few feet from it. Just doesn't seem like a good time to me. My dad has an 85 c10 long bed with power everything, but is in daily driver condition 350/700r4. busted ac, hail damage on the hood, and peeling clearcoat without one freaking spec of rust anywhere, and he will hop out and go in the store with the windows down, no stress about it getting scratched or stolen, and his ignition doesn't lock it can be started without the key. That's what I prefer honestly. We live in a good area for sure, but there's also nicer stuff for thieves to steal.

Ask me that when I get done with my project! I got to drive it in High school, broke a few things back then and can't wait to drive it again.

It's going to be a daily driver, not a show truck. That said every nut and bolt has been removed and everything has been either rebuilt or replaced. Doing body work now to fix the minor rust on the cab. Not full resto, I'm guessing you'd call it a full resto mod?

Dropped it off at the tuner’s Wednesday after the exhaust shop. We figured out it wouldn’t run cuz the fuel pump had died. That’s #2. First one died 30sec after firing it the first time in October, it was a parts store brand. This second one was a Delphi.

So got my dad to help me drop the tank and throw in a genuine GM AC Delco Thursday night. Got it running, let it run for 3-4min and shut it off. Tuner said he work on it Friday. He calls me Friday, says I need to bring him an injector, #2 is dead. No big deal. Bring that, we get it changed, go to fire it up. Nothing. Fuel pump is dead again [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]

His shop is in a real small industrial park and he doesn’t have room for me to leave it three. So I’ve gotta grab the trailer from work again and I’m gonna bring the truck to work to drop the tank again. Plus we’ve got a huge lot the tuner can drive around in once I figure out this issue. I’m thinking either the sender is slightly too deep in the tank and the pump is creating suction or somehow I’ve gotten 3 bad pumps. The second pump ran flawlessly for about 6 months as needed, so the wiring has to be right.

And they would have to jump in to find out that the ignition doesn't lock and could be started without a key.

I think that's how they are from the factory. Rain x can work wonders

I'd be checking the wiring to the fuel pump, and checking the voltage going to it. 3 pumps going out that fast indicates the cause has to be found before replacing again.
Agree here. NO way that many bad pumps even if you were buying cheap white box ones

Agreed. Me and the tuner both check the wiring as far as it being wired correctly. But I need to check actual voltage. Not ordering a pump until we do some more diagnosing. Hoping I can coax some life back into this Delco. Otherwise I’m gonna go Walboro for the next one.

Whoo, wires showed up. Damn sure doesn't sound like a tractor with the open headers. Loud and rowdy af. Homemade zip tie wire looms. Wires are pretty long, may go with a custom set soon. Exhaust is next. Pumped to drive this old girl soon
