Added 1 more qt of atf then took it for about a 30 minute ride to make sure that the Trans was good and hot. Stopped by HEB for some beer for the game later.

Then got bit of a scare for a minute. Went to crank it and one click then nothing. Popped the hood checked battery cable connection (good) the light to the alt was on with key on. Thought, do I need a jump? This was all of a sudden though.

Don't have any tools in it(that's gonna change)but, I found some metal bracket in center console. So I took it and hit the starter a couple good times with it. Got back in cranked right up. Whew, got it home and checked the Trans fluid level and it's perfect now.

That's a total of 8qts total with deep pan and filter change now. Just didn't think it'd take that much. Anyways I heard if you over filled it then the atf becomes foamy. No signs of that.

OK not a square, a mini square, not mine. This is my Grandson, Kooper's that has become a family project. I bought it.$300, got it running, then my son, Kooper's uncle did the body and paint work with the help of my Daughter and SIL's help. We like it , although it is a fiat(dogde) color, dark charcoal with the Camaro Synergy Green stripes. Not totally done.socks holding the windows, no inner door panels yet, but the kid is HAPPY, see pic

It said extra 2qts when I bought it. I probably drained 3qts when pulling the old pan. When the shop switched motors and Trans they said they checked and topped off fluids.

I'm thinking it was running on low fluid because I initially put in 6qts for the pan difference. Then ended up putting in an extra 2qts. So I think it was running 2qts low before the pan and filter swap.

Seems to shift harder now. Not much but noticed it.

Got into the rear brakes. Passenger side is done, new wheel cylinder, shoes and hardware. Got the new flex line in also, and if it’s nice when I get off work tomorrow going to start on the drivers side. Truck was sitting for years before I got it, the cylinders were all locked up.

Still doesn't make sense, if you think 3 came out of it, you were about 1 lowish. If the pan was extra 2 quarts, you should be 3 more than what you had but it should still only hold 6, the regular 4 plus 2 additional??:33::confused:o_O.

A trans will be low in the pan not the convertor or cooling lines etc?

I'm not sure how much it was low but, it holds a lot more than 4qts with a stock pan.

According to your own screen shot it hold 4 quarts in the pan...which is what I'm talking about. Yea the whole transmission holds more than 4 quarts but you can only get what's in the pan out in a fluid change...which is 4 quarts according to even this screenshot you posted. Now it may be like 4.?? Something...but my memory which is not the best remembers a th350 pan at 4 qts.

Look at the first line under that heading transmission fluid capacity..
