Finally got the rear on jacks stands so I can go after a brake issue. Of course, that's where progress ended because it's raining.

The site was being sluggish around that time. I made a double post too during that time.

Getting closer every evening. Have some wire tidying yet to do around the junction block, need to prime the oil system and install the dual sync dizzy. Might ditch the phinolenic spacer in favor of an aluminum one that matches the mating surfaces of the intake manifold and sniper. I need to weld together my exhaust system as well, then that pretty much does it for the power train. Oh yeah, need to shorten the throttle cable and housing. Then it’s onto the interior and new glass.

Someone has been using the search tool ;)

You got any pics of this hidden hitch you made? I have the non step bumper on my 78 but I want to be able to pull my mower trailer around and stuff with it and was thinking after I lower it, I would like to have the hitch as high as I can get it and not have it hanging under the bumper. I was thinking about making the plate flip and put the receiver behind the plate.

I'm pretty sure I put the pictures in my build thread for the truck. If not, I've got the pictures saved somewhere. I used a flip-down plate bracket from either a Cuda or a 3rd gen Camaro. I had both on hand, but don't remember which I used.

In hindsight, I really should have cut off that extra 4 inches or so. It doesn't serve a purpose. But it was basically just scrap steel hastily welded together.

Interesting design. No end plates like most? Just bolt through the two cross bars?

Nope, no end plates. Iirc, I utilized holes that were already in the frame. It's mounted with grade 8 bolts. It's heavy wall tubing and I could have sleeved the bolt holes, but it's already far more stout than any 1/2 ton truck should need. Especially a short bed. It's a very simple design and the 2nd cross bar gives a lot of support.
