How's it going buddy?! I need to take some time and check out your dually, I always like seeing your work! Been gone too long (shtf), I feel like there is a lot of things to catch up on.

Yeah we haven’t seen ya in a while! Definitely check out the dually and let me know your thoughts :) I think the plans are pretty spot on but open to input :) she’ll have a round eye front end at some point :)

Spent yesterday afternoon taking the snow plow frame off my 80. Had to cut most of the bolts off, 6' cheater wasn't budging most of them . Good thing most of the front clip was already off, it made access to some of the bolts a lot easier.

Was hoping to sandblast and paint it before installing it on the CUCV, but don't think that will happen. We are supposed to get 6-10 inches of the white stuff today, and I don't think the 88 is going to last much longer.

Upper and lower radiator hoses last night on Goldie.

Discovered a spraying pinhole style leak on the upper last night coming back from Wally World- decided to not waste antifreeze and do both at the same time.

Laziness/lack of thought - should have done both last year when I did the water pump.

NOT 100 happy with the fit of the advance auto hoses, but there are new ones on.

The upper does not sit close enough to use the metal strap the old one had - these remind me more of the ones on the 91 I had.

Still- new ones on !

:D

Just gotta top off the reserve tank tonight and put the cold air duct back on.

I mounted the original jack from my grandpa's '78 in my '81.

I'm still missing a lug wrench though. I also don't know the purpose of what looks like a clip on the jack below the 'J' shape. Is it supposed to clip onto anything?

It slides down and goes over the hinge to lock it while you're using the jack.

I know about that on the jack handle, but I'm wondering about the little flat piece on the actual jack.

This is what I'm talking about. It looks like it belongs, I'm just not sure what it's for.

That hooks on the control arm of a 2wd when you Jack it up, IIRC.

No i think hes talking about that thin piece of metal under that j hook. Yes the j hook goes under the control arm for lifting though. As seen in the third pic from left.
