I also have the transport wheels that will be on this truck. Next is gonna be tires. I am thinking 305x40x22.


The old crusty springs are only in temporarily. The springs will be replaced with bags front and rear. This truck will be laid out on the frame when completed. I will also be fabricating new inner front fenders for clearance once the front suspension has been changed. So far the front modifications have been easier than raising the bed floor height to accomodate the frame bridge.

I wanted something different no one else has and these fit the bill. I went with them because they kind of reminded me of the old wagon wheels, and I dig the gold color. Started out was going to get 17s but ended up with 20s, but with a 35in tire I think they look proportional. I absolutely hate the rubber band tires on big wheels, dumbest fad to plague the lifted truck scene in a long time in my own opinion, also hate the squatted ass.... what are you trying to prove pulling that ghost trailer?!

I'm not a fan of large rims because of tire proportion, but those are awesome looking rims and tire set up.

Keeps water from getting in to the cab -
had to cut it to fit on the new ones bellows.

Also don't know how most people get to those nuts - I have these, which helped tremendously.

Just gotta say your suburban is gorgeous, I really like the gold and white two tone, you don't see it enough in my own opinion, that's one of the combos I'm considering when I repaint mine.

Probably leave the rest patinaed.

BTW- I have enjoyed watching yours come together.

Absolutely amazed me at how many people could be full time professional mechanics/restores here.

I appreciate it, It has been a long road for the old truck and still has a long road ahead. I just ordered floor pans for it this week, once they are in I'm going to put a bunch of dynamat all inside the cab and doors so it isn't so noisy.... then I have to redo all the window and door seals. I have to get that stuff done before winter so I can have good heat again, then come spring time I'm putting A/C back on it. many moons from now ill address the body work but its pretty low on my list of priority's.

Where are you getting the vacuum signal for the booster? I know on a holley carb there are two different types of vacuum ports, a few are full vacuum and others are timed vacuum. If your vacuum line is on a timed vacuum port it will never get the vacuum it needs for the booster to work properly, boosters need full manifold vacuum, you can pull it directly from the intake if you aren't sure where to get a signal from. Also, make sure the lone going to the booster isn't split with a T sharing vacuum with something else, it can make the brakes funky as well. Another thing is to make sure the line is a good line, sometime when they get older they can collapse in on them selves.

Redone my vintage push bar today. Really happy with how it came out, blasting cabinet, 2 coats of good etching primer and then 3 coats of white enamel.

Factory QJet and the hard tube line from the intake thru a filter to the check valve.

Pulled the line from the check- seems to have plenty of suction.

Changed the filter today - no change.

Across the street neighbor said he would help with it this weekend.
