Since I think I'm going to have to go with Th400/NP208 Set up I have, I'm thinking of using my 3.73 set up instead of the 4.10 set up. I'll be making trips to my dads in mine and that's 70 miles away with speed limit of 70 all the way so that means I drive 80. It appears I'll only be going with 33's since I don't want a wide tire not to mention cheaper and more likely to get it running sooner that way. Not even sure I'm going to install the lift that I had planend on doing since I have the springs. Might just save the 4.10's and lift springs for a Burb or K5 that I might get someday.

For the most part and occasional street.
Fugg it go with 5.38's or 5.13's then. If you're gonna have to regear, get your money's worth. Although, for the cost of regearing you might be able to find a set of CUCV axles with 4.56's ready to bolt in.

Speaking of, there is a little bulb in a housing under the dash right in the center of the hump - is there supposed to be an actual floor light courtesy light ?

Here is the bulb I was talking about - I have had several of these trucks and just don't remember that one...

My 84 HAD a courtesy light there, but I swapped it out for leds. All of the interioir lighting is led. Long gone are the days of melting the plastic housing and draining the battery so quickly.

That and it might not be a good tire. A tire with 20% tread that's about 3 years old is safer than a 12 year old tire with 90% tread.
Oh for sure. Only used it a few times when absolutely necessary and stayed at a low speed. If I remember correctly it still had some of the injection nibs on the sidewall.
