Very nice work on that harness, good sir! Someday when I have some cash floating around, I need to see if you can whip up a crewcab, relayed, express down window harness.

Drove it to work an back today about 30 miles round trip.

Yesterday took it to its first event of the year, probably put at least 80 or 90 miles on it then. Still running great no issues other than me stalling it out a few times :doh:

Weather supposed to be pretty rough the rest of the week so back to the garage she went

love this post, the stuff your doing is stuff I probably need to do. My drivers side vent window handle is loose, have to look at it to see if we can tighten it up. Don't think the pin has come out, it hasn't fallen apart yet LOL.

Replaced body mounts and transfer case mounts on both the 76 and 77, removed the rusted out bumper and receiver hitch on the 76, new door strikers on both. Next on the list is to replace bearings in the 77 and put a new clutch in the 76.

New lines on the a/c, new blower resistor (I now have more than just high speed) new upper radiator hose, front calipers turned and bearings packed, rear adjuster un-stuck.

Replaced body mounts and transfer case mounts on both the 76 and 77, removed the rusted out bumper and receiver hitch on the 76, new door strikers on both. Next on the list is to replace bearings in the 77 and put a new clutch in the 76.

Wait, there's supposed to be a transfer case mount?? Mine's just floating there, just held up by the transmission, which has it's own crossmember/mount.
Do you have a separate crossmember for the transfer case? Is it like a skid plate for the transfer case?

Mounts are one and the same for tranny/transfer... bolt up to the adaptor between the trans and transfer. But yes, I do have two cross members. One for the mounts and another behind the transfer case(Skid plate in between).

I will have to look into that. Does that additional crossmember serve just as a mounting point for the skid plate? Or does the transfer case mount to it as well? My transfer case (the np208, I see you have the 205) has holes tapped for something, is that what they're for?

I bought a can of fluorescent spray paint at Walmart for under $4. I pulled all the gauges except the oil gauge. I took sheets of copy paper and cut a slit into them about 1/2 way. I slid the paper under each needle and taped the slit closed. I then sprayed each until completely coated. To do the oil gauge I sprayed a piece of paper until I had enough to dip a small paint brush in and then painted it by hand. The difference in the gauges is like night and day now. My wife got a little mad when she saw them, because she thought I'd gone out and bought all new gauges!

LOL I woulda told her u got them cheap.....$100. Then go to the ATM and get your $100. When she asked about the $100, tell her you had to pay for the gauges. Then go get more parts. Repeat.
