Restored some headlight bezels for a friend of mine, for his 78 c10.
Came out pretty nice.
Polished them and repainted the centers with 2 coats of flat black and 2 coats of satin clear coat.

Chrome looks pretty good too for 43 years old.

I finally finished up with converting from the HID headlights I installed about 20 years ago, back to plain old sealed beams after one of the HID's burned out last summer... took awhile to line up the sealed beams I wanted, and to remove the mess of ballasts and ignitors, get new adjustors to replace stripped ones, and get everything installed and aimed. Verdict: Not as much light overall, but all of the light goes to the right places instead of spraying treetops and off in the weeds- big improvement! ...plus it looks and feels old school like it should. Looks good! Are those stock halogens or did you do an upgrade? If so whatd you go with?

Just stock halogens, H6054 Sliverstars I believe.

H6054 is the number for large square headlights... H4656 is the low and H4651 is the high beam for the four headlight trucks. Don't ask me how I can spit up those numbers from memory, haha.

Found a set of rubber mount blocks and some long bolts, and finally got my core support on, in hopes of getting the radiator I'm and hooked up.
Spent some time and unburied my radiator that I had saved for this project, only to find out after all that work, that it has a couple leaks in it. Dang.

After being discouraged about that, I figured I'd give it a face and put the grill, top headlights and grill trim on. First time its had a face to look at since I've owned it. Only had 2 of the 4 lights, so it looks funny.

If I can get the exhaust figured out, and a dipstick tube installed, I can get the cab, fenders, and hood on for the first time.

For me, I don't think snow would be an issue - occasionally.

Ice, and the salt used to combat it, is a whole nother story.

But, how often does Houston see snow ?
Probably seen it 10 or so times in real life and driven in it (light) 3 or 4 times.

Working on "harvesting" my donor cab and get it on my project frame. Its a little nerve racking disassembling a 2nd truck....wife is looking at me sideways. Hoping to get cab off and on a dolly to move it around and do some cleanup before thinking about setting it on my frame.
I definitetly have 2 jigsaw puzzles going.

Another tailgate band resto. Hopefully it holds up as I did a few things different.

1st, removed anodized coating using oven cleaner.

2nd, scuffed the center of band with gray ultra fine scotch brite. I went in one direction only. With the grain of the band.

3rd. Polished the outside edge of the band. The part outside of the black pinstriping channel.

4th. Clear coated with 2k clear coat. Applied 2 light coats.

5th. This is the scary part. lol Applied 3/8th inch label making tape. Got it at Office Depot. It’s super sticky but I don’t know how it will do in the heat, cold, and rain. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll remove it and paint some stripes.
