Washed my suburban for the last part of getting it ready for an 850 mile road trip this weekend. Going to PA to visit family.

Quick- like 10 minutes quick - pull down of the PS side drum.

Man, it gets dark fast this time of year!

Anyhoo, a shot of brake clean and 2 more clicks on the adjuster then reassembly.

The old finger on the drum test showed me the driver side drum was hotter than the passenger side.

They are cleaning up - there may have been brake clean still on the drum when I took the pic.

My Suburban is now driving nice and straight thanks to a change out of pitman arm, idler arm and tie rod ends, plus new front calipers has helped under brakes. Its always pulled slightly to one side under light brakes but straightened up once heavy pressure was applied. Turns out a stick caliper was to blame.

It is tapered! Thought I would add some pictures in case they can help anyone else down the road. I do need to get another lock washer, seems one was missing.

Been raining the last week so not much yet. Getting ready to pull donor cab and hopefully moving it onto frame. I think I have a loose captured nut on cab mount bolts. Not gonna start dismantling other parts until I diagnose and get the cab mounts loose

my measurement was off a bit obviously too close to the back of the cab....had to move it forward.
I am cutting washers to have a flat side and will drop one on each side. to better hold everything in place

THEN>.....did some brake work, and a while later I really wanted to start swearing......puddle under booster, and pass side caliper leaking...

Started placing the 3" exahust back into place (has smitty mufflers attached to them) on each side of the truck. Dumped pipes out before rear tires (and left room between pipes & gas tanks), will maybe trim them up after new rims/tires are installed if I don't like how it looks.

Big day for me. Sand blasted down to bare metal, both front fenders, both doors, the hood, tailgate, and the entire bed. 14 80# bags of double 00 and 5 hours later I am one sore puppy. lol
