Cut off about 4lbs of bailing twine that was wrapped around both axle tubes on the rear and on the driver side front axle. Farm trucks are always good for finding the odd ball surprise.

Looking good!

I picked up a pint of SS to respray my tailgate. It's nothing fancy and not even an exact match (they didn't have the codes back to 84' at CarQuest), so I just matched as close as I could out of the chip book, but it will be WAY better than the scratched up gate I have now. Before I got the truck, someone vandalized the gate by scratching cuss words into the tailgate, and then the PO scratched them off...Looks trashy.

Did a partial tune-up on the '88 Burb, we hadn't driven it for a week or so because it was running poorly. I started with a new cap because it was old and it looked like poop inside, rotor was OK but was disappointed because it still ran bad. Then replaced the module and coil wire (one corroded terminal) and again there was no change. The plugs and wires weren't too terribly old, but to my surprise they were the actual issue. So I also replaced 3 plug boots and all 8 plugs.

And I no longer recommend the Jeg's 8.5 wires, the boots are not resistant to heat at all and the wire jackets chafe easily. I won't be buying a set of those again.

Thanks! I do wish I had gotten something a little smaller/cheaper though, but hindsight is 20/20.

Nawww BS. You did right by going to big. I did the same thing when I was 25. I was by myself, single and had a 4yo daughter. I bought a 1400 sq ft 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car brick with fireplace and big backyard. Grew into it in about 3 years, and after starting my biz, actually outgrew it, kept it for rental and bought this house. Never regretted either house.

Haven't done a damn thing to my squares. To busy cleaning up after storms. I did drive the K1500 to my daughters to throw my carpet on her trash pile since one of mine had been picked up already. Was about to buy a PS pump today and realized I'm even more broke than I thought. Then to thinking, I just might buy a manual gear box instead of a pump. I like manual steering. I for sure want it on the 2wd 3/4 ton, but hesitant on the K1500, cuz if I put big tires on it someday, I"ll regret that manual steer box.

Put new window glass in the passenger door (coworker shut door too hard and glass shattered), put blower motor in, and installed different steering wheel (aftermarket type, has bow tie horn button though), all parts from the junkyard. The window wasn't as hard as we expected, the vent window was most difficult to put back in, everything else was pretty easy. And did the front brakes last night (rotors, seals, pads)
