@78C10BigTen , so how does the mini do in the snow? got snow tires or ? Kooper's is parked for now, doing rubber pieces and getting the interior kinda straightened out. He's driving his big brother's K10 square
Mine has 215/75/15 glacier grip snow tires up front and 31x10.5x15 bfg mud terrains on back. The snow tires blow! It always wants to slide the front and never stop. I dont really have too much of an issue as im used to drivin 2wd in snow but a few times i had it stuck in stupid spots. I just rock it back n forth, use 1st gear and ive learned while staying on the gas use a few pumps of the brake pedal when yur having issues going. Only other thing that im used to is when already rolling on snowy roads watch when it drops a gear because the ass like to walk.

I took the LS2 corvette pedal and Tejas bracket back out cuz it was too high, I would’ve had to hold my leg off the floor the whole time driving. Plus that pedal wouldn’t work with my E40 computer anyway. So I ordered a stock ‘06 Envoy pedal, rewired it the way PSI told me and it worked perfect!

So this pedal bolts in sideways, so I used the stock pedal bracket, trimmed some off, drilled a few new holes and bolted it in. Perfect height wise, but was too far toward the tunnel, so I couldn’t get full throttle. Made a spacer to bring it 1 3/8” toward the drivers door and now it’s perfect. It looks goofy though, the pad is tiny and doesn’t match the brake pedal at all. Need to figure out how to drive the pin out of the new pedal so I can either use the Corvette pedal pad or my stock one.

A mechanic diagnoses the problem and fixes it . someone that plugs a computer into a vehicle and lets it tell them what's wrong with it is just a parts changer to me . I know that computerized Technology is a way of life now but I can't put them in same category 'True" mechanics are a dying breed . I don't have the experience that most of the guys on here have as I'm sure they have forgotten more than i know . but when I meet a "True" guru of the mechanical arts I try and learn everything I can so I don't have to bring it to shop and run the risk of "getting taken for a ride" so to the Legit mechanics on here and out in the world I thank you.
Yea , and just cause your a mechanic on stuff doesn't mean you can even work on everything. I have a buddy who is a certified Hyundai mechanic and I know has been to certain ford diesel school classes and is the diesel mechanic at a ford dealer, but he calls me on stuff about outboards cause he knows I work on mine he also asks me stuff about carburetors, and I am no where near an expert on that stuff. Not things like automotive. Pretty good on small engine carbs.

But yea there are a lot of parts changers in the field

Noticed a little drip after I ran it yesterday- popped the hood and discovered it was a weep from the upper radiator hose at the thermostat.

Tightened the tower clamp - I think I got it.

She does not like the cold, though- twice now I have gone to kick her off fast idle and the RPM'S have jumped up and held.

Another quick pedal pump and back to regular fast idle.

4 years of Southern weather and she has gone soft.:p

I don't blame her - I don't care for it, either.
I was driving mine the other week when it was colder. I drove the 19 miles to the little town on the way home. Cut off and high idle was on when I started it back up to go home after like 10 mins. Drove the 8 miles to my house and the last few miles till home the high idle was back on. I was able to hit throttle when parked and it dropped down. But that cool weather had the high idle kicking back in. Hasn't done it since then more than it normally should. I will just say it's because most of the normal warm up stuff is gone and it doesn't like the cold. It was only in the 30s I think. It does have a hot air choke and the tube is hooked up and it funtions normal to me...except these cool days.

The only thing I have disconnected is the EFE which I can see having some warm up effect, but...

It still has the intake manifold with the crossover exhaust port so you would think some of the exhaust heat would still go through.

Finally got the heads, and the intake put on tonight with the help of our oldest daughter.

Good times, super warm garage, and great non-stop oldies (50's/60's) playing on the stereo system.


Here she is doing the torque sequence on the heads, as we got closer to 80 ft. lbs. I had to lend a hand...

Kind of nice having this help, because as she was installing these head bolts and turning them in by hand I was prepping the other bolts & head.

Here she is lending a hand by chasing the threads on the intake bolts for me while I cleaned up the intake & prepped the valley pan gasket. Yes, I do know I need to do some MAJOR cleaning in the garage after this! It's a disaster right now. Wrenching on old sleds, and other peoples sleds, and trying to wrench on this truck....my garage has seen better days!

That polaris looks alot like a sled i grew up on. Idr exactly wat it was but my dad always called it the toad. Fun times!

Started her in below freezing temps with the 20W50 oil.

Slower to turn over, and seemingly in reverse it took a while to build up RPM'S and oil pressure.

But, she started!

Worked on cleaning up the rear lighting harness. Next up going forward to the rest of the lighting harness. Painless wiring products, get the tools, makes it easier!
