Well, this evening, about a total of 5-6 hours was spent on my rear end, and there were numerous debacles.

1. Original Carrier bearings were STUCK STUCK STUCK! The first one came on after ALOT of struggling with the seperator. The second one just wouldn't come, AT ALL, not with a torch, not with a big breaker bar on the puller, not with a impact, NOTHING.
I had to use the side grinder and cut the frame and take a chisel and hammer and knock it off!
Removing carrier bearings alone took me a whopping 2.5-3 hours WITH the proper tools!!!!!

THEN, the pinion nut that came in the set had/has a damaged spot in the threads.... it wont even go on the pinion...

so using the old one, which is sorta damaged, im having to set my pinion bearing preload by rotational "feel" rather than the 15-20 ft lbs needed. That makes it a ******* PIA

old Pinion bearing popped off easily in the hydraulic press. By my estimate, i have about .01-.02 to take out of my pinion depth, and a tad bit of carrier shimming and i will be set.

What a debacle of an evening.

Real tough repair today....Lol...replaced the glove box bumper stops. Got tired of hearing the banging sound when closing it.

Done and done.
Backlash is supposed to be .006-.01, I'm at .005-.006, the engraved number on the ring is .006, I'm fine with this. I'll be driving the **** box later today.

Ohhh come on man, put it in the red. Then you can start the 500th thread about why your not getting 100MPG! LOL:party52:

Ha! Aint that the truth
Last i checked before a tune up, and sensor replacement, i was getting 14 on the highway, its probably much better now, but with the 4.10s, i will probably see better town mpg tho.

Got the axle dropped back in, waiting on the wife to help me bleed the brakes.

This is gonna be a problem however.. tires immediately started spinning in the grass with the motor idling

We did have a downpour yesterday, which doesnt help tho.
