Drove my k5 about 10 miles backroads to my house from the wife's parents. On my way back about halfway front left brake caliper either froze or brake line collapsed. So now that needs to be fixed but it ran decent with a messed up trans(but seems like its shifting better than when I first put it in) and not being drove in about 3 months

Not much, just replace the U/L ball joints, tie rod ends, drag link, steering arm, re-paced bearings and fixed this problem...

Well at the moment I replaced pinion seal, universal joints, new sending unit, rewired sending unit where prior owner removed driver side tank and hacked the wiring to pieces.LEDs in guage cluster.rewired interrior lights and new CIG lighter.in the process now of new wheel bearings, new windshield rubber, and doing a short rebuild on the 350c tranny(o rings and gaskets)and also have a new seat cover on the way.in the last couple of months I've replaced shocks, tires, new carpet, new window weather strip and fuzzies, new mirrors, and interrior pieces.

You weren't to far away from having the front axle walk out from under the truck. Wouldn'ta been good.
