Not sure about your 80 model, but think that there's a resistor/relay for the blower motor. My 87 R10 has one. I would check electrical schematic prior to condemning the switchThat might explain that. I have an 80. I also have an AC cab. Well I will again when I get a new compressor and fix all that back.
I still think the blower switch is messed up cause I am thinking my speed doesn't change with the position.
