That might explain that. I have an 80. I also have an AC cab. Well I will again when I get a new compressor and fix all that back.

I still think the blower switch is messed up cause I am thinking my speed doesn't change with the position.

Not sure about your 80 model, but think that there's a resistor/relay for the blower motor. My 87 R10 has one. I would check electrical schematic prior to condemning the switch

I bought a new relay. I don't recall a difference. BUT that was before I knew about the always on. Need to go revisit this issue again before I forget about it.

Well, Saturday I set the timing to 12 BTDC, flogged her around some local roads where the speed limit was 45, so I got up to probably 60 or so and no clatter detected. Temps were probably in the high 50s.

Drove her to work today on the highway- temps in the 40s this morning- I can hear some at WOT after she shifts from 2nd to 3rd.

Maybe 11 will work.

Well ive had a horrible studder and sort of backfire at cruise speed and its pissin me off! I pushed all the the plug boots thinkin maybe some were loose and sure enough one was but it didnt help. Tonight i pulled that wire and plug, plug looked fine but the wire felt like a spongy spaghetti noodle and very fat. Im assuming oil soaked since its directly under the valve cover breather. So i grabbed my spare distrib and pulled a wire to replace it, cruise around town its still there but not as bad. I did see another wire in the same condition, anyone know if this would cause my issue? And yes i know youll all say do a full tune up wich yes it needs but thatll be after the $ spending holidays. Heres a pic of both ends of the wire, right side is the "noodle" side. Anybody see it? Also these are 8mm wires.
