Not that it doesn't fire right up and drive great because it does.
I just know I'm gonna break something and want a new crate or something. Heh.

Noticed a couple of things that needed attention while switching out the cats. Saw some chunks of rubber under the rear axle and discovered the sway bar end link bushings were toast. Ordered a new set from Energy Suspension and installed them. While doing that I also noticed one of the front mounting brackets for the Ride Rite bags had come loose. Don't know how, but one of the lock nuts and carriage bolts went awol so the front bracket that goes under the leaf pack was just swinging in the breeze. Luckily, I had the hardware for that on hand so everything got done at the same time.

Replaced right license plate light I got from AutoZone for $8 only to have the left one go out. Lol. Had to rig it to fit with dremel. Now I'm wondering should I fix the other one or just take off the bumper. I'm not married to it but, does make nice step to get in and out of bed tho. What y'all Think?

That's a nice original GM bumper.

IMHO, a "sport" bumper or even a roll pan would look better on your truck. But if you like having a step, what you have is the way to go.

My front end parts arrived for the 79 yesterday. I decided to go with Moog problem solver line. Happy to say all of it claims to be made in USA. Ball joints, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm. I think the furry one on the floor wasn't happy it wasn't for him...

Ok, so I was digging under my sink today, found an old can of great stuff foam sealant, and remembered that thread where some dude re-did his dash pad with it.
I don't have any ***** any more, and I don't think you can really hurt a square body dash pad any more than it already is, so **** it.
The foam expired in 2012? Little rusty? Ok.
Let's go. :D

So I burned up my dremel grinding out the cracks (don't make them like they used to), so I just used a 4" angle grinder with a cutting wheel.
Honestly, it worked better.
