Looks good.
Thanks...I ended up using self tapping screws to attach the fendewels to the firewall, and radiator support. 6 screws per side in strategic locations. I also bent the fenderwells 90 degrees to overlap the seam on the radiator support to secure it some more. They aint movin.......or flexing...and miraculously they don't interfere with the hood operation. I guess spending all that time making templates paid off.

Hang on a second....I need to work on my fabricating skills a bit more in order to accomplish that...

Funny thing though, thats what my daughter said when she came out to see the progress. What is it with today's youth...geez !!

The story of how simple things can take forever on a frankensquare.

Finished up the power steering pump. About a month ago it blew up on the freeway. Didn't get a chance to fix it over Christmas. It's the first work I've done on this truck since buying it in October from a guy I coach football with.

The truck is a 1980 C1500. It's badged as a diesel. I was told when I bought the truck the engine was a sbc350 swapped from a 1986 Caballero. The power steering was added 5 years ago.

Pump came out fine. Pulley wouldn't come off... the pulley puller chewed the end of the pulley. I had to buy a new one. No one had a single drive pulley, only doubles. While searching for a single, I looked up 86 Caballeros to see if they had a single drive pulleys and if the auto parts store would have it... Apparently Caballeros were only sold with 305s that year which through me for a loop. Ended up getting a single from an 83 square. Napa put it on cause I was there and the offered. Then found out the install bracket didn't fit the new pump. A 1976 pump fit though, so I pulled the pulley and reinstalled it oncthe 76 pump. All great. Not! The high pressure line fittings didn't match. Had a custom high pressure line done by Greenshields Industrial. All done.

Oh, and the engine is a 1995-1999 SBC350 that was swapped into the 1986 Caballero before being swapped my truck removing the diesel. I checked the numbers. The previous owner didn't tell me it was just a crate engine. No biggie though, it was a fun adventure.

LOL yeah that's the way it starts. I changed a tail light on my Blazer. Turned into a complete frame off, still under construction.

Second plastic hvac door actuator attachment broke. Quick fix that should hold. A bit oversize on the non critical dimensions, but should be ok.
