I guess it would all depend on how easy it is to get the fender wells out. Batteries are just ugly. Out of sight is better. And having a door would take the fluidity of them.

Yep...my thoughts exactly. Batteries are ugly and I like the idea of keeping it covered. I'm thinking a maximum of 6 fasteners is all that is needed to secure the fenderwells. I will start on the brakets tomorrow am.

So far as designed, the fenderwells are very easy to remove.

Relocate the battery, side of the frame under the bed. I like the way it looks, one piece.

I have used them for the aluminum door panels on my rzr. They require a really stiif and secure Mounting surface for the mounting tab on the underside...aligning up the spring catch is a bitch. I thought of using dzeus fasteners, but I want something much smaller and kinda concealed too. I used a dzeus fastener for the bed comparment that concals my tank and compressors

My last build had the battery alongside the passenger frame rail. We had to jumpstart the truck...bags deflated...absolutely no way to access the battery. If I were to ever relocate the batery, it would either be concealed in the bed (when the bed floor is moved up for a bodydrop) or under the bed where the spare tire would have been.

I have seen a few trucks that have the air ride compressors, bags and batteries in the space under the bed floor (there is a dead space between the frame and the underside of the lifted bedfloor) and they have built a metal rack that slides out for battery access.

This pic is of a truck that was at Goodguys in November 2017...he had a compartment for a spare tire and his compressors....sorry for the crappy pic....it is a pic of a pic on my phone.

Sounds like I will be keeping the panels one piece.

I kinda want to cut in a steel mesh "window", above the battery. The steel mesh wil break up the look of the flat panel, but will ,still conceal the battery so it looks similar to what is in the bed.

This is what I did when I built the compartment for my air tank and compressors. The steel mesh screens allow ventilation for the compressors.

I seen a truck at C10s in the park that had the battery under the bed where the saddle tanks use to be. He had a set of jumper posts under his hood down by the frame. Thought I might do something like he did..
