Nice. I'm looking to go in the opposite direction with my Suburban once I find a donor 700R4.
I'd recommend getting some money into it they are efficient with your power but they're fragile little bastards

If every one jumped off a bridge, would you? Lol

Long beds are usually cheaper and easier to find. Plus, when ya hook hard enough the added length will help keep the front plated to the ground.

There are several long bed street/strip trucks here. Probably more long beds. They just take regular old work or farm trucks and put big power plants in them and go racing.

I asked a few down there and most came up with weight diffference
Nothing a healthy big block can't fix right?

Yea, that's the plan. Getting the budget together is the tough part right now.

You will want to do suspension work to get it to hook. Also remember these trucks have a **** ton of frame flex under duress. Stiffening the frame will aid this. If it's strip only solid mount everything. Cab, engine and trans. That will help put the power to the drive line instead of the chassis absorbing it.

whacked off the exhaust that was in the way of the 31 gallon tank. Still in progress. I've got 2 bitch rivets I can't get to w/o taking the bed out. We'll figure it out though.

Just sold one of my motorcycles, so the 700R4 swap on the Suburban starts Friday!

crusing under the stars...carshow

Two other member's and myself entered our squares in a car show last night.

Thanks Jay and Jay Jr. Informing me about the show.

The weather was perfect once the sun went down and there was quite a variety of vehicles being shown.

A big thanks goes out to 74shortbed....Thanks for the camshaft/hood prop rod. I had a lot of comments on it !
Enjoy the pics...

worked on the deville seats today. Think the drivers seat has a bad module, it won't move. I'll swap it with the passenger side or get another module.

Also replaced the bed bolts with stainless. I need to order the longer ones as the short ones in that location make a pain.

Thanks....it sure beats the ol' plastic pipe hood prop that I was using. I can't take all of the credit though.

I saw a rat rod truck that was using a camshaft for a hood prop and an easel frame that held his build book display as well.
