Initially he didn't want power windows and locks....then he seen my auto down/up mods and decided he wanted that feature.....so, I built an 81-up style power accessory harness....then after that he said he found the doors he wanted to use-and they had power mirrors-so I had to add a mirror harness too....

Here's the added power mirror harness-typically I'd integrate it into the window/lock harness if I'd have known he wanted to go power for the mirrors....

So even tho this truck began life as a plain ole GMC-I'm outfitting it with:

Power windows (NEW)
Power locks (NEW)
Power mirrors (NEW)
1978-79 specific tach/gauge cluster (restored)
1993 GMC Jimmy leather wrapped steering wheel
GM style serpentine bracket/pulley kit
R134A AC
Dual speed electric fan (built into stock fan shroud)
H4 headlights w/adjustable delay off (my design)
Pulse/delay wiper conversion (my modified 78-83 kit, for use on 73-77 trucks)

So it'll be a nice comfy daily driver truck with some modern touches all in an effort to "appear" factory.

first fire up since the carb swap. this was just an initial time, still need to set it properly but I am not too far off i think...

are new headers supposed to smoke alot at first?

Nice, It's Alive !!!

Yes, headers will probably smoke at start for the first couple times at least. Burning off paints and oils from manufacturing, not to mention your oily hands from handling them while installing. No worries, they won't for long. Just enjoy that smell of new headers for a couple days cuz it goes away. Just like smell of new motor and gaskets being heated up for the first time.

Here's the 78-79 specific tach cluster for the truck-I picked those years because it has all electric gauges and a 100 mph speedo.

Bummer, I know a guy locally that was just asking if I knew where to get a set of stock OEM 5.7 rods. I wouldn't give mine up since they're still in blocks.
