Ya i put a performer plus rv in it. with new lifters New chain comp cams roller tip rockers push rods edel water pump. At idle it has about 30 oil psi running down road about 45 50 psi. The heads say 236

Sounds like the bottom end is in at least fair shape to have that kind of oil pressure. Shouldn't be a bad combo at all. A nice mild combo and still have a bit of mpg left.

Got the 77 put back in my garage again. She'd been housed over in my dads garage for over a year now until we sold the house. Now that we are moved into the new house I put her into her new spot :) this weekend will be full of giving her a good bath (don't think my dad washed her at all the whole time :(), oil change and just some general love. This will be the first time that the 77 and 87 have sat next to each other so they'll get acquainted very quickly now :)

Installed a new wire connector on my new heating control assembly. I now have 3 fan speeds and an "off" position too. The light socket wouldn't fit tight so I applied a little weatherstrip adhesive I had left over. While I was working on the wiring I found a light socket under the dash that had no bulb. Installed a bulb, turned the dimmer switch , and low and behold...I have a courtesy light in the cab! First time since I bought the truck several years ago.

Water pump, power steering pump, steering gear, lots of new hoses and a new trailer brake controller are up and rolling on the R20. It's been down for awhile while I worked through all this stuff, nice to have it back again.

Took it for my first "extended" test drive with the LS swap. I'd mostly been running around town, making sure everything was good. Drove her about 100 miles on Saturday and got 19mpg highway! Not bad for a 6.0L/4L80E/14B FF w/ 4.10s in a Crewcab!

That's better MPG than our 2002 envoy with the inline six!

That's a LOT better mileage than I get in any of my vehicles. The wife's 07 burb only get 15 mpg on the hwy LOL

That's damn good. And plenty of power when you want it. Nothing sacrificed. Big ass truck that can get out of it's own way and still gets 19? :waytogo:

It was definitely a pleasant surprise! I was expecting maybe 15-16mpg highway, tops, but I guess with my tire size and gearing, I'm right in the sweet spot for cruising.

4.10's and 31-33in tires are a great combo for that sweet spot with an OD Transmission. You're getting the better of both worlds. 35-37in tires with a 4.56 ratio, and 28-30in tires with a 3.42-3.73 are usually good combos.

Thought I'd share this.
I added 2 extra courtesy lights. I was able to splice into the original single floor light that's in the middle, and added additional lights on each side. Power is orange, then a ground (white) from each side to trigger the door ajar light to ground (left and right side door(s) have their own ground), and a third ground wire from the headlight switch to trigger interior lights when turned on by hand. I just grabbed two extra middle lights from the junkyard, adds quite a bit of light, and looks factory, mounted under dash like factory one is:
